This is why so many teenages are pregnant - irresponsibility, misunderstanding, or simple disregard.Ame no Akai wrote:I really don't see why one can't just use a condom, or pop a pill afterwards.
Condoms actually do numb the feelings of sex. Teens will abandon this form of contraception to get the most of the experience, but condoms are the second best contraceptive, only standing behind birth control pills.
However, most teenager girls don't actually fully comprehend how their birth control works. If you miss even one pill, you can end up pregnant. That's how they work. So if a girl messes up her pills for just ONE day, suddenly, she could end up with a child.
If you miss a number of pills, you can't even make them up. Depending on the brand, you can't pop more than one or two pills at a time, or else you will overdose. I can speak from personal experience of this - I forgot my pills at home one weekend when I went to visit my friend, who lived in an entirely different town. I couldn't exactly just run back and get them, so I ended up going without them for three days.
When I got back home, I popped all three, since my directions said if I had missed two pills, I could take those two at the same time. BIG. MISTAKE. That one pill caused me to overdose, which sent my body into a "forced period". I suffered severe abdominal pain, and spent an entire day throwing up, trying to get what was essentially poison to me, out of my system.
But even in that instance, I was lucky. I could have ended up in the hospital, or fucked up my body for life.
It's the best method of preventing pregnancy, but it's still VERY risky business. I take the pills, but make Tuxedo Mask use condoms as well.
A lot of teenagers don't take these precautions, and... look where they end up.
