Oh, hang on a minute. Need a disclaimer.
THIS POST CONTAINS SERIOUS BUSINESS! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR TEH LULZ, SKIP IT!
As I was saying, its a tough issue as to when its okay to necro a thread. Mainly, because threads die for a reason; its regular discussion points have been exhausted, and resurrecting a thread normally just degenerates it into off-topic subjects instead, like this for example. But there are two exceptions.
The first is when the post contains something that required a notable amount of effort or creativity - rezzing a thread in the Comics section to post an edit would count - under the premise that the moment of rez backlash is worth not having the effort go to waste.
The second is in this case: whereby while the thread did go inactive, a sufficient amount of time had passed or a new sub-topic has arisen, so that there's enough to talk about on the thread; its normally better to rez a thread than to make a new but identical one.
Buuuut... this thread is more of a gray area. In this case how alive the thread would become would be directly proportional to the number of new forumers, assuming that older forumers already had their say. Thus, it could be decided whether or not it should've been ressed by making an estimate of how many new guys there are, and in this case I'd say that yes, there are enough new people to make the resurrection a good thing.
Buuuut(again), RyuCat is new. There's little chance they actually considered how well the thread would do and instead just resurrected it for their own comment, which in itself isn't enough for a resurrection.
So in conclusion: it was a good thing that this thread was necro'd, but it was also right of the girls to say to him that it was the wrong thing to do.
Also, its called necro-ing, regardless of whether it was justified or not.

Well they could hardly have known that at the time!

Eris Discordia, just shut up.
It was already addressed in the post right before you, fucking drop it. I don't care what you think, it wasn't much of a necro -at all-. Its a post that follows the thread, its a good reasoning, and it is justified. Necros aren't bad if there is a good reason. Posting in a thread with a post that relates to a thread is a good reason.
And for Sneaky Petes sake, it was less than 2 months old, it isn't that big of a goddamned deal. Next post even -slightly- related to this gets deleted. Its our job to deal with this, not yours.

I joined the AZ forums because of the humor here. And the lack of restrictions.
Before I joined Awkward Zombie, I was part of BZPower. I joined it when I was 10, and kind of just stayed there. The website was getting annoying with all the rules they were making.

I read the comic archive, thought it was funny as Hell, and decided to join the forum.
FASCINATING, I know.

I read a few threads here after reading the comics for a long time, thought people were funny and that I might make friends with people with similar interests...

I read the comic, decided to pop in and look at the forums, found them amusing, lurked, and then finally joined.

that's easy! this forum is about Katie (whom before discovering this website I knew as Hail-Nekoyasha), my favorite comic-maker of all time (I even think she's better than Stan Lee) and I'm all over this forum for that.
and my little sister just screamed "Blasphemy!" for my part with Stan Lee.

My brother Josh showed it to me. He been a fan of web comics for ages. I read the forums over his shoulder for a while and finally decided it might be interesting to join. Plus I really like Katie's art. I wish I could draw something that didn't look suspiously like a stick figure.

So you should know not to necro threads.
You know, two can play the bitchy game.
In all technicality, his post was not a necro. This was an old thread, I'll give you that. However, the purpose of this thread was to tell people what reason you had for joining AZ. Did he tell us why he joined? Yes. He somewhat lived up to the newbish stereotype, but
his post was perfectly on-topic.
Furthermore, as you can see, there are people posting in here again. It was revived, and now it is being used again. As such, his post was not a necro.
At this point, I can honestly find no other reason for your bitching than a general dislike of this person. Granted, I'm not too sure
I like him, but I'm not the one wasting space and time arguing with him, now am I. So, with all due respect (not too much, probably), you may kindly shut up now.
Bacon already apologized.
Aaaaaaaand...I'm a girl.

That's all right!
I actually get confused for a guy a lot, which makes sense, considering the fact that when me and my friend Sarah have one of our silly role-play adventures, I'm usually a dude (I remeber this one time when we were roleplaying a Legend of Zelda thing with Roy and Marth (I was Marth, even though he looks like a lady).

Well, I'm sad to admit, I am the biggest 'noob' you'll ever find. I'm 15 and have never dabbled on forums. Yeah it's a bit sad I know.
So I decided that, seeing as almost every time I come on the internet I check out Awkward Zombie, it would be a good forum to join.
Also the great sense of humour, the way that most people seemed to be quite nice, and the fact that I can actually read everyone's posts was a big plus.
Wow, that sounds really shit, but I can't explain it any other way.

Someone had posted a link to one of Katie's comics. I believe it involved Jynx and the move Flash. After reading all of the comics, I noticed that there was a forum. I lurked for a few days then joined.
