I tried to do that but couldn't find a good not Trojan filled version (according to the comments).
I tried to download a free trial from the official site and then just put in a serial from a key maker but it wouldn't download.

Did you google for a pirated vesion?
Also, yes, most keygens have nasty trojans. I'd suggest a whole virus check.

The Key Gen is on my old computer. I don't have to worry about it.

I don't think that Absol appears in Kanto...
Evolve some pokemon. And catch more. You are still lacking severely with them.

Apparently Absol can be traded in FR/LG. But I can't recall ever doing so...

It can only be traded in after defeating the Pokemon League. Which we haven't done. So that's a no-no.
In the 1st gen dark pokemon didn't even exist.
