I don't like really short skirts since I don't like my thighs too much. Highest I'll go is above the knee- Both of the skirts I have (which I do like, mind) are a bit below the knee.

But it's pretty cool that women are getting more confidence.

2009 - 20 years ago - 33 years old = Women born in mid 1950s

2009 - 40 years old = Women born around 1970

You are creating a problem where there is none. It is almost an entire generation difference. It's essentially saying that the current generation of women in their 40s are still wearing miniskirts, while their parents were stopping wearing miniskirts in their early 30s.

I was pointing out that they said "just 20 years ago!" when talking about fashion, something that changes like the seasons.
