What's the name for that feeling you get when daisies near everything you think of doing, you think "Meh. Whatever. No big deal"? Like you're bored with everything? All the things I like doing don't seem to hold my interest so much, now.

And the problem is, I want to do something. Probably in a creative sense. But, again, anything I think of doing (like getting my lazy booty in gear and writing on that science fiction I'd been working on for almost a decade now) just... Kind of like "What's the point in doing it now? I don't have time for it."

Heh, I bet if I hadn't dicked about playing Minecraft so much, I probably would have at least hammered out the whole plot by now. (If I could guess, I'd say I've been stuck at around 60-70% done with that part for the past two years...)

IT'S A TRAP!!!

I've been staring at my code for days trying to figure out what to do, but I just can't seem to find a way to reduce the problem I'm having into manageable chunks that allow me to keep going.
I can't get my brain to go from "make a game" to "make that tiny, little component that just loads some shit from the drive and puts it in memory."
This is the most frustrating thing about learning to code. Not the syntax or how anything works. Just how to design stuff.

Have you looked at design patterns?

What kind of data do you want to retrieve? What components need access to it? Does it change during the lifetime of the application or is it only used during the initialization?
