My brother and I went to the mountain last night, and found undeniable proof that bears do, in fact, crap in the woods.

Shortly after we saw a fresh bear print, I noticed a dark shape on the ground. About the time I said something, my brother stepped on it.

It was a fresh pile of bear shit.

My brother zeroed my scope for me today. However, when I went to fire a round through my rifle for the first time, I suffered a mishap, and the phrase "I have a bad feeling about this" went through my head right before I pulled the trigger.

We were shooting in the prone position, aiming at an upward angle at a paper target about three feet off the ground.

Several factors led to only the top corner of the weapon's stock being in contact with the pocket of my shoulder, as I didn't want it on my collarbone.

However, the recoil pushed backwards, as usual, which meant the stock would be pushed down by the angle of my body, which meant the back end of my scope slammed into my forehead, giving me a bit of a deep cut that didn't want to stop bleeding.

Hurt a bit, and I was nauseated from the hit.

So later we used the truck as a platform. It works much better.

So one of my cats somehow crawled into the ventilation system and I had to unscrew a grate to get her out.

We keep all the broken grates heavily covered up for just such an occasion so I have no clue how the heck she could have gotten in??

My brother recently suggested (though not for the first time) that, once I get a decently paying job (I intend to go to welding school as soon as I can), I go to a particular matchmaking website and get a Russian email order bride.

My mom, however, is VERY opposed to this idea. I haven't determined if it's foreign women in general, or just Russians.

Also, it wouldn't really be all that different from any other dating website. Not that I've actually decided to go along with it, just seeing it as a possibility.

Um... Why is it that virtually every time you say anything here (or at least to me), you're a complete prick about it? It's like it would kill you to disagree with someone without saying so in a hostile tone. When you aren't being an asshole because you disagree with someone, you're complaining about being depressed. If you're depressed, then go see a psychiatrist instead of griping about it to us.

Further, as far as I'm aware, most such sites are subject to stiff regulations, and many of those women (according to a documentary I saw on the subject) join up for free, and are looking for a husband who isn't always cheating, drinking, and beating them. Men have to submit to some serious screening to protect the women on their site. This includes criminal history, or any restraining orders against them.

Further, I did say that I haven't actually decided to go along with it, and I would rather not spend the shitload of cheddar that would be involved, most of it not even being spent on membership fees, but on airline tickets. Also, it's actually pretty far from human trafficking. Nobody is being forced to do anything, and nobody is having any rights violated. It's simply a service to get people into contact with each other that doesn't rely on going to a bar or a nightclub somewhere.

As far as getting people I know to introduce me to someone goes, apparently nobody knows anyone who isn't in a relationship.

You may be content to be a loner the rest of your life, wallowing in your own self loathing (which you've done more than once), and that's fine. I, however, am not. I've spent nine and a half years single, and it sucks. I'm doing what I can to make my life better, which includes plans to go to welding school so I can afford to live somewhere other than a family member's house. I'd like to not live alone, and any option I have is better than no option.

Mate maybe try and go out and actually meet some people, perhaps pick up a local girl, before ordering a girl over the internet.

I was going to post basically the same thing as Stranger but I refrained because I didn't think you were actually okay with ordering human beings as a commodity, and I theoretically accepted your points about free will in your response, but then you made yourself a much bigger jerk than he ever was (seriously, he's blunt but not disrespectful and he doesn't just shit on other people's life like you just did) so the asshole's on you.

So I'm an asshole for standing up for myself? That's kind of messed up. Further, I just did a little reading, and from what I can tell, international dating websites only set up introductions and translate correspondence. Nobody is bought or sold. Not different from others in that regard.

Further, daisies near every single (as in, not in a relationship) girl I've met in this state who is over 18, practices basic hygiene, and is in reasonably good health is that way for a reason. I've had girls I barely knew just randomly tell me I look like someone who would cheat. I've been asked by girls if I thought they were attractive, and saying "yes" got only disgust in response.

Also, all the daisies time women around here will say "love don't cost a thing" and then turn around and raise all kinds of hell because the guy they're with doesn't make a shitload of cheddar so they can have fancy shit. It's almost as if males are only valued for reproductive purposed and because we can make cheddar.

As for what I said to him, I'm sick of how virtually EVERY time I say anything, someone here has to come along and start insulting me or getting hostile just because I'm not exactly like everyone else here, and he's usually the one that starts everyone in on coming after me. It's complete bullshit. Granted, he isn't actually telling anyone to do so, just the first.

Hey, I might be a self loathing loner, something thats unrelated to my relationship status at that, but atleast I'm not considering buying a girlfriend because its too hard to get laid any other way. Mail order bride services are exploitative garbage that targets the economically disenfranchised, they're like one step above those creepy bordellos in Thailand. Sex is not the most important fucking thing in the world, so dont come here with your entitled whining about how hard it is to hook up.
