Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
I just yawned so hard the ringing in my ear was like a doorbell. Ding-dong. Weird.

I think it's be neat if we had more sections for other things, I've seen alot of great writers and artists here, so maybe an Art section would be nice to categorize work, and I know mafia is heavily popular here, so a Forum Games section might be neat.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
A general creativity subforum would be nice, though I have a strange feeling that none of the active users have the power to make it happen.
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
Forum games and creative endeavours can both be posted in General Shenanigans.
I dunno if they'd make for very active new subforums! I suppose having dedicated subforums would push people to post more topics in there but people that aren't interested would just never look in these subforums, whereas you're more tempted to check them out in your usual subforums. I dunno! What do you guys think?
I can't really guarantee that we can make any changes down the line either way.

I dunno, I think splitting that stuff out will just make General Shenanigans more quiet than usual, and with Media Swamp's creation we didn't really see much more active posting just because there was a new place to post. It barely gets 1-2 posts a day, if even that.
Games might be more active, and with a subforum for creative works maybe we can have threads for individual artists/writers/whatever, but I'm not really sure how much it will be used?

My interview is tomorrow.
I don't feel ready at all but there's nothing I can do.
Aaa.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for
I think a subforum for art/other forms of OC would be nice. Like Liraxus said, it would make it less spammy to make individual threads, and make it more convenient if we're wanting to look through a specific user's work. That being said, I don't know how active it would be. As for forum games, I think it would only really be active for the first month or so and then it would stop getting much attention, kinda like how the last few mafia games have been.
While we're all having dreams of Katie making changes to the forum, I think having a shoutbox at the top of the index page would be nice as a type of quick chat. I've seen it on other forums at least. It would probably kill out a lot of the forum posting though and would probably end up needing more moderation than the rest of the forum.

My interview went well. They want me as an intern and intend to hire me full time for real afterward. Now to worry myself to death over having to move to another town I don't know at all and having real responsibilities and challenges and whether or not this is what I want or if I'm ready.

The place I get my miniatures from is having a liquidation sale and while I don't really need anything, I can't say no to a pile of mummies.

Rucky was like some crazy event from 7 years ago, I think spawned after I did something crazy (an annual event it seems) sadly most of the people that made it happen dont post here anymore[Citation Needed] wrote:Yeah, it was kind of saddening that the Rucky thread was so... eh. Boring. Insignificant.
How does one bring in a wider audience to a webcomic? And then the forum?
I mean, forums themselves are falling out of style.
the forum has been too dead for any of this to be true for the longest time, maybe it was like this 2 or 3 years ago but there's maybe 4 or 5 active threads anymore so its less difficult to get in and more there isn't enough traffic to generate a community like there used to be.Brekkjern wrote:Your last point is spot on. But the few who actually try to join are often ostracised. Honestly, it's probably because this forum sparks witch hunts against people who say something slightly "wrong" or whenever a new user makes a thread that already exists they get a bad welcome. Even though the thread will fall off the front page in short order and there really isn't much point in making a fuzz about it. It's a difficult forum to join compared to other forums I have visited.

To be fair, I like how the AZ active community is pretty small, it feels more like a group of friends. Even though I don't actually talk to anyone outside of AZ very often. But I'm still kinda invested in how everyone's life is going, you know? You guys are pretty cool, even if there's less people than before.

I agree with saint, we don't have to have a lot of people. New people are nice but I'm still pop flyin' we have a good amount still active.
One of the old forums I used to frequent just died out and no one's posted anything since like 2012/13
(And considering it was a forum for a specific game the community in it wasn't that large to start with.)
And I just realised I've been here a whole 10 months already?!

All my online communities have died off eventually. I miss Altermeta. There's a forum there now, but... its not the same
