My roommate thinks our apartment is haunted.
I am unsure how to react. So far, I have resorted to the default of "no reaction whatsoever aside from pretending I didn't actually hear that part of what she said, because goddamn, I do not want to have that kind of conversation."

A friend of mine insists that theres some sort of presence in his place, he's had a buddhist priest over to try and pacify it and everything, but he refuses to talk about it in detail. He's malasyan, maybe its a bigger deal over there.

Mom believes in hauntings, and, due to bizarre childhood incidents, I have to say that I don't not believe in them.


I'll look at every situation with a fair amount of logic and won't immediately jump to conclusions and try to get everyone to panic with me, though it is comforting when Mom steps through and does her little banishing ritual. It usually turns out to be my hair refusing to stay put, anyhow.

yeah honestly i'm surprised i dont' have one considering all the dead shit i have in my house. maybe they're all content with the ending they have here, lovingly displayed and appreciated daily. which i guess...mission accomplished? but i miss the cat ghost that would run up and down the stairs and sit in the windows. even the one that would make all the electronic singing christmas dolls start off at the same time at night just for kicks.

my old church was haunted. i can tell you stories. my mom can tell you more. it's fucked up bc i grew up around it so babies screaming in walls and doors locking/unlocking themselves is just whatevs for me, even when i was very very young. like 3yr old me played with the ghost in the boiler room (it would knock on the wall, i would knock back, etc.) me and the dead have always had a thing.

I dont really belive in it, but I dont belive in tempting fate either. Problem is, EVERYONE I know claims to have had some supernatural experience of some kind, while I've never seen so much as an errant shadow. This either means that I'm a spiritual dead zone, or everyone else is delusional or lying. I COULD deliberatly seek out something, but on the off chance that the supernatural is real, its probably not a good idea to go looking for it. But I cant really belive in what I've never seen or felt either.

A few years ago while being shown a house for sale, when my mom and I were taken up to the attic, I suddenly got really sad and there was this heavy pressure on my chest. Both feelings kept building and I would've started crying if the realtor hadn't taken us back downstairs. Odds are it was just some wiring in the walls that was fuckin' with me, but I've never had that experience anywhere else so I sometimes wonder.

Another story is that there was a show on tv a couple of years ago that focused on "haunted objects" and they went to this building that used to be a convent/nunnery/wherenunslivedbasically. Now, a few years before this episode aired, my brother lived there with a bunch of other guys; they were part of an organization that helped former drug addicts and the like. I had visited once and while it was kinda creepy, it was just in the old and worn-down building kind, no "supernatural" feelings. Mom sent a link to the episode to him 'cause we were laughing so hard at how the show kept hyping up how this place was SO HAUNTED and knew that he'd get a kick out of it. He also forwarded it to some of the other guys who lived there, he and they were all like "we never had any ghost stuff lmao what's with these dudes"

You and I are of the same mind here. Although every once in a while (usually when I'm already stressed or tired) I'll notice something weird, but it's generally that I just saw or heard it incorrectly at first.

That's pretty much how I operate. I think ghosts are super neato but I do not believe they actually exist. The concept is cool though.

Yeah I like ghosts as a fantasy creature (see: my avatar), but Im not enough of the conspiracy-theory type to entertain the idea of them in real life.

I used to be superstitious as a kid, but looking back, I'm pretty sure anything I thought was supernatural was straight up confirmation bias.

I don't have a particularly strong belief in them, but I leave just enough room open so that I don't end up being the one who made a fool of herself for refusing to believe when something does turn out to have happened beyond the normal confirmed possibilities of the physical world.

God probably never fixed all the potential glitches in the system, y'know.

No, this is late beta. It's been going really smoothly for the past thousand years or so and all the updates have been pretty minor.

Dinosaurs were in the various alpha stages before a full character wipe made way for the beta.
