Aaaaa I have a party thing tomorrow and it involves people and driving in a town that isn't my own (which I have never done before) and I was only told about it yesterday so I didn't have a month to worry about it / prepare myself mentally.

I've already gone to a party two years ago and I have to go to another one in January. I might just spontaneously combust.

Even worse when they're younger than you.

"Oh wow you accomplished your dreams at 18, and everyone knows who you are now just a year later.

That's

something."

You feel both old and like immature in comparison. It sucks.

Fuck that! When I grow up, I wanna be a dirty old bastard. At 28, I'm about halfway there.

wait, how old does one have to be in order to be grown up?

Its not a specific number, generally I consider anyone to be an adult when all the joy, hope and wonder has been drained from their souls and their eyes have taken on that signature sunken, dead look. You can get that when you're physically still a child, depending on how bad your life has been.

Unrelated topic!

On the Wapsi Square forum (I'd provide a link if I could with this phone), the conversation in one of the daily comic discussion threads had somehow migrated to two topics, how would Islam have fared if Rome never fell, and the susceptibility of Native Americans to European diseases.

When I went to make my post, the most recent post displayed said something about the lack of genetic diversity.

Since that forum doesn't let you know someone posted while you were writing your post, it wasn't until after I posted that I realised mine wasn't the only new post.

While I was writing it, someone posted:

"Rome never really knew what to do with the Middle East."

My post:

"And that right there is why we instinctively abhor incest."

Whoops.

Edit: misquoted it here, so I fix with chewing gum and band-aid.

Hi everyone! The semester has ended so I once again live and breathe something other than the art of herding teenagers.

Good stuff:
- Grandma beat cancer! Her fight was thankfully only 6 months long despite the initial tumor being bigger than an egg when it was found, but her doctor has declared her cancer free and the lumpectomy a total success.
- The Big Cheese is coming to visit me on the 28th!!!!!
- The teachers I work with got me presents! The last school I worked at actively ostracized me, so having my coworkers invite me to do things with them and include me is like... wow. I got each of them a little gift set of peanutbutter filled pretzels, cashews and dark chocolate piroulines, and my fellow paras small gift bags of candies.

I got the ultra warm fuzzies Friday during lunch. We all went to hang out in Mr. Brenn's room and he got us all super delicious burgers from a local burger place, and we sat around chatting for a while. I feel guilty a lot that I can't always keep my brother in school a full day or that we miss school entirely because I'm sick or injured or because I can't wrangle Isaac, but they told me that they have no idea how they'd manage the Weird Teenager Circus without me (with all love toward our gaggle of unusual kids.) I'm crazy proud of my brother for all the progress he's made this semester.

So I fucked up royally today, I used a steam desktop authenticator to try and get through Steam's retarded Escrow system, and it kind of blew up in my face, and knowing Steam's horrible customer service, it could take weeks before I finally get a chance to fix my account.

Not only that, but I got a PS4 in, the specific one I wanted, but it won't work with my television, so I have a PS4 console I can't play.

I got this off QVC, yeah, I actually order off of there, I got it, along with a copy of The Last of Us Remastered and a 9-in-1 accessory kit, price was 650, but I'm an impatient git and decided to go with it anyways. Now its here, I can't use it, and it's all my fault for not researching it.

So yeah, slew of idiot moves there, I'm gonna be sending it back now, I was too impatient and irresponsible to do something like this, I'm just going to wait until later to just buy a PS4 after buying an HDMI TV.

Boy am I a special kinda Idiot, huh?
