Well, I won't force you to reconsider anything, but don't let a few things you said before run or ruin your life. Focus on acting on the present for the sake of the future.

No one is shunning you from this forum, and no one is shunning you from actively asserting your opinion on this forum. Listening to other people and reconsidering opinions even slightly based on what they say is something that everyone should stand to learn, not just you and not just them. Even me. Compared to you I'm the World's Biggest Asshole.

We had the Taboo Topics thread specifically for discussing things like that, so there's no reason to say that you shouldn't have posted that. What's important is keeping other people's opinions in mind and actively paying attention to what everyone has to say about the topic at hand.

Mete I just want you to know that you're a pretty smart dude and I enjoyed reading your opinions and discussions on AZ, even ones I didn't 100% agree with, and I would enjoy seeing you around in the future if you feel like posting again (but that's okay if you'd rather spend time elsewhere)

I'm not going to dig through Taboo Topics but I do recall that conversation a bit; I remember you made some points that were definitely worth thinking about and you did some good research, but there were also other points that some folks here took issue with. And I agree with Aquabat that some folks here jumped down your throat rather too aggressively about those things when they could have taken a more diplomatic or considerate approach. I'm really sorry that happened to you.

Also, it's 100% okay to change your opinions about things; in fact, it shows maturity and open-mindedness, which are traits that not a lot of people have. Treasure those. You clearly have put a high value on improving yourself and changing for the better and that is deserving of respect. Don't dwell too much on who you were in the past, there's a whole future ahead of you.

I hope you're taking good care of yourself.

Thanks, I appreciate that a lot.
The dumbest thing about all of this is how easy it would've been to avoid all of it, you know? Think about your own best and don't go causing unnecessary problems for yourself. Is this really the opinion you want to set in stone? The one you think you'll have 20 years from now? The answer to that is 'hell no' and it's really hard to back out once you've written something like that. And for the love of god don't say a single bad thing about anyone or give people legit reasons to call you a racist.

I'm proud to say I've come to realize my own shortcomings and made up for my ill thought-out words. It's a shame this was necessary, but at least I learned from it. That is a mistake I wont make twice. I can only hope all people involved forgive me for it.

Honestly, I think you are the only one who actually cares or remembers what happened really. This is the first time I have heard of any drama with you involved and if I actually had heard of it before it wasn't actually that noteworthy. Don't think about it too much. You live and learn.

If only it were that easy. The sheer impact all of this had on me is going to leave a pretty big scar. I know it sounds absurd to say that about a couple forum posts, but it's the truth.

But all of this is starting to come across as a bit too attention seeking and victimy. I appreciate the kind words, but talking this over and over again won't help much in forgetting it and actually moving on.

Perhaps sticking around for a while longer will help.

If it's worth pirating, they must be doing something right.

Kazaa or Limewire probs.

At least one fan, and if they like 'em enough then they probably recommend them.

Marc you've gotta talk it out or we really can't help ya. We all want to support you during the hard times in your life (and that goes for ANYONE on here) and help to remind you that you can survive whatever's going on. Things get hard for everyone at some point, which is why we all need to help each other. Pretty much everyone on this forum has been through a situation similar to yours, and they can all tell you that you can survive it.

Believe in your own worth, and realize that nothing that is happening is beyond your ability to grow and survive. Reach our for support from your friends and whatever family you can trust. Do what's best for yourself, not anyone else.

Yeah, sorry. I just really need to get out of this house. That'll probably help my stress a bit.

Why is evolution still a contentious issue. Disregarding people being mad because its not in their stupid book, THE BASIC CONCEPT ISNT EVEN DIFFICULT TO GRASP. Yes, the actual biology behind it is complex, but the basic concept is really fucking simple. I dont consider myself above average in anything, I was a terrible student in school, yet I can understand this shit, why cant everyone else?!

I think it's not so much understanding the concept as accepting its implications. Creationists refuse to acknowledge evolution not because they don't get it but because it's incompatible with their beliefs. Or course, some pretend they don't get it or refuse to even learn (or are just never taught) how it works or outright try to discredit it, but I'm certain they're the minority.
