I'm not a particular fan of it myself either actually, I generally prefer lighter more fruity tastes for ice cream.

See I can't stand fruity ice cream. I'm very picky about fruit-flavored things.

Mint chocolate chip ice cream is god tier tho

The U.S. A lot of times, chocolate ice cream is made out of what we call "reclaim" that is still safe to eat, it just can't be sold in its current state. Whatever has to be sent back to the company for whatever reason, or if it never even makes it out of the company warehouse, because they find out that, oh no, there is no cookie dough in the cookie dough ice cream. They mix it together and dye/flavor it like chocolate to cover up traces of other flavors, and then ship it out so they don't waste as much. As far as I know, virtually all of the inexpensive companies do this, some of the pricier ones, like Haagen Dazs may or may not.

That's why most chocolate ice cream here has a weird texture. It's still perfectly safe to eat, I just don't like it. It could very well be different in other countries.

I don't think Tillamook recycles their chocolate ice cream. At least not ALL of it. My family eats Mudslide all the time, with chocolate chunks and a fudge ribbon. The ice cream itself tastes fine. Mybe if you buy generic store brand chocolate ice cream it's like that but I think I've only been disappointed by chocolate ice cream a few times in my life.

Where are you getting this information? I have never heard of this being the case. Especially since all ingredients in the ice cream must be listed by law, which would out the "reclaiming" immediately in several cases.

The Ice Cream War of 2015 will rival the Bacon War of 2012.

Only people don't realize the true answer to the question of vanilla vs. chocolate:

Frozen yogurt master race, reporting in

But seriously even if that stuff about chocolate ice cream is true, i don't really care, chocolate is delicious. Hot dogs are made in gross ways too, i still eat em.

I don't want a chocolate/vanilla swirl, I'd rather have a chocolate/mint swirl.

Also I agree with Saint. Frozen yogurt=yes

Strawberry is the best, though you have to buy the half strawberry half lemon box to offer the lemon to unsuspecting people and watch thier faces when the sourness hits :D
