My speakers randomly shut themselves off even though they're still on--like, I can't hear anything out of them. I tried turning the volume up, I tried seeing if the cord was unplugged, but nothing! I hope the speaker isn't shot. HELP!
I can still heard that sort of "whirr" noise when I put the earbuds in and turn it on. I have a dell of some sort and I have no idea what mt speakers are but they are a separate unit from the monitor.

I have no idea. The monitor is a NU,
Keyboard is an SK-8115,
No idea about the speakers or tower.

I restarted the computer then turned the volume up and it(the speakers) started working again. Whew! You can lock this now, proletariats.

I'm still trying to understand why, of all places, you came HERE for practical advice and intelligent and comprehensive thinking. ...Have you even seen most of the posts on this forum?

Always try a reboot/restart before you panic.
Then try Googling your problem (I'd wager you're not the first to have any given problem).
Then PM (Personal Message) people if you must.
Then - IF ALL ELSE FAILS - make a topic in a completely unrelated forum.
But you're alright Airigh - I don't hate you for this.
