would a soldier get charged with cowardice for running away in a zombie apocalypse or something of the like

So I was having a debate about this with a buddy after watching Cloverfield and thought i would ask it here. So if a zombie apocalypse or something of the like, ie aliens giant monster happened and a soldier ran away could they get charged with cowardice or abandonment of post?
