So apparently there's somehow a trend of people on tumblr arguing over whether or not shoplifting is wrong.
??!??
Are extremely basic morals that debatable? And why do the people saying that it's wrong apparently think that it takes several paragraphs to explain why? It doesn't take that long to say "The low-level employees who keep stock are actually the ones who generally have to pay for it, not the big companies". Or even simpler, "Wrong things are wrong".

Are they claiming to be like a Robin Hood kinda person?

I'm assuming people are arguing that poor people have justification for shoplifting, which is definitely not true.

From what I've seen, there's always been this little "culture" of people who called themselves "lifters" on Tumblr, and it's only recently that they've been confronted about it. That's just my guess, at least. I think one of their justifications for it was "I never get to have nice things so I'm giving myself nice things!!!!!!!" which is generally agreed to be a pretty shit justification

Yeah, seems like people are just taking whatever they want because no one can stop them (yet). Brag about it on tumblr, listing all the things they stole and saying it was a good haul for that day.

People, I want you to pay attention. This is the sort of mindset the last few generations have grown up with, that you're entitled to "nice things" just because you're you AND YOU'RE SPECIAL GODDAMNIT. It becomes a problem when people dont grow out of this attitude and retain it into adulthood.

Power went out a bit ago because a transformer got struck and a wire fell into the river behind the house. Com ED and Comcast won't answer my calls saying shit broke.

Called 911 a bit after this post. Emergency services were glad to finally know where shit broke. Power guys are assessing the situation. Comcast can show up earliest on Wednesday because that helps

Exactly, "lifters" are pretty daisies childish. I would bet they're pretty much all the type of people who actually use the term "snitch" unironically.

Oh man what a load of shit, they wont let me bring back both my bags on the plane, so I gotta get one shipped back after I leave.

yesterday i went into work and there was a big sign saying YO WE CUT SOME HOURS BC SALES HAVE BEEN BAD LATELY CHECK THE NEW SCHEDULE POSTED ON THE WALL

so i did and it said i'm off today. i triple-checked it and even took a photo of the schedule to make sure.

i get a call today that i was supposed to come in and when i explained that the schedule says i'm off she just told me 'well you read it wrong' and p much hung up on me

now i'm panicking and i feel sick and shaky and i keep checking the photo and yes, i'm supposed to be off, but i know they're going to make it my fault somehow when i go in tomorrow morning and i was supposed to have a relaxing day with kyle because he's remoting due to the most disappointing tropical storm ever and now i just want to throw myself in the creek
