If your workplace is like my previous workplace, they had a month delay between working and receiving your paycheck. I worked two months before I got a paycheck but then after I quit, I got my last paycheck a month later and it was like a fun little surprise.
But yeah it's probably a good idea to know how frequent your paydays are. Where I work now we get paid every week and it feels great.

Weekly paychecks is great. Every Tuesday night at about 2 AM, direct deposit. I feel like I always have cheddar. It's a weird psychological thing - I would still get the same amount of cheddar if I was paid monthly, but it feels like more to get it weekly.Cori wrote:But yeah it's probably a good idea to know how frequent your paydays are. i have a friend that works at the same company (but another state) and they get paid every two weeks, so i was going to wait til next week to bring it up since that would have covered any weird 'i started in the middle of a period' issues, but today i had to do some tax papers and stuff with a manager (for some reason the application stuff went through with my old name so i've had to change everything and it's annoying as shit,) and i mentioned and she realised she never told me how often i get paid or how so she found my check and we're gonna set up direct deposit tomorrow
so my annoyance turned into /shades because it's a good check (being for three weeks and all,) and now i can finally afford to finish setting up my snake tank and buy the lil' dickens! he was supposed to be a birthday present and then Being Robbed happened, so i've been waiting very patiently to get the cheddar together~

I felt like I was working for nothing, sometimes. But getting a check with a four-digit amount was really, really gratifying at the end of the second month.shazza wrote: ew, montly sounds rough. but i mean i guess it's the same amount of cheddar, but less convenient lol.
All the same I'd rather be paid weekly.

Why can't my wifi ever go more than a week without losing connection
Oh wait it's because I'm stuck with fucking Time Warner and they have a goddamn monopoly over my region so I'm stuck with them and whatever piece of crap they feel like giving to replace the previous turd that would die constantly
I can't stand this
not having access is one of my biggest stressors because I'm disabled and the Internet is my only link to the outside world right now
I can't fucking take this anymore

My guitar amp was acting up so I opened it up to clean out the potentiometers. It worked fine and fixed the issue, but now a few of the pots are acting really weird and I have no idea how to fix them. I might have to physically replace them at this point.
Since this is garbled English, please refer to the brutal attack of confusion.

Re: Things that piss you off
After going to a convention, I was scheduled to work from Monday all the way until Today. Now that's not usually a problem, but when you barely got any sleep in the first place, plus, having to work morning shifts, you get tired and sick very quickly. Christ, I hate that my General Manager does that.

Got the brakes and wheel cylinders installed but we fucked up while trying to flush the lines. Long story short, there is definitely air in the front brake lines. Rain started coming down hard so fixing it will have to wait.

Re: Things that piss you off
I hate that whenever entertainers or movies or TV shows want to show off a big Texas city, they never come here to Houston. They always default to cities like Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio. You'd think that the biggest city and its biggest port town at that would get more play in he media, but no. A Spider-Man book was centered here for a bit and it was pretty good, but it got canceled. At least we're getting the Super Bowl in 2017....

Houston turns up in crime dramas sometimes...
I remember watching a show that was all "Look, we're in DALLAS!" They had a flyover shot of the Dallas skyline, then when they were in the hotel looking out the window, it was Austin. It's not even that far, you could've filmed it in Dallas for real...
