I was extremely disappointed when I heard it was a Clint Eastwood film. He had been making a few questionable political comments but I didn't think he'd start inciting racism and hate.

It doesnt surprise me one bit. Even people who arent openly or even consciously racist watch shit like this because it affirms subconscious prejudices AND makes them feel good about being white and American. Tacking on incredibly shallow and insincere moral angsting also makes them feel less guilty for enjoying watching brown people that dont belive in Jesus get massacred.

As for why old western stars turn out to be dicks, theyre usually from the South and usually conservative, a combination that might as well come with a KKK membership for the percentage of racists it holds.

It's no good to stereotype. There are plenty of good and kind people in the south. There are racists in the north as well. There are still far too many people that think in terms of "us and them".

No matter how many times I tell my brother not to upload shit to youtube while I'm around because it slows down the internet to pre-dialup speeds for a good 4 hours (it took me 30 minutes to navigate from the main AZ page to this reply box, and the CSS on the main site failed to load) he continues to wait until seconds before he goes to bed to hit "upload".
I'm done being polite. I'm outright telling him to start doing it in the morning when I'm not awake and he's the only one using the internet. If he keeps doing it I'm hiding his internet dongle thing. It's bad enough we're being throttled by our ISP because of how much he uploads per week (He uploads 2 different versions of the same video to three different hosts AT ONCE and it's always 1080p and around 20-30 minutes long) but actually trying to use the internet is completely impossible.

So many people act as though the best way to get rid of evil is to accommodate it.

I absolutely love it when my ping shoots up to 600 just because one person is watching youtube videos. The internet here sucks so daisies bad. I can't wait to move to the city for college.

eh, it's only really happened twice before, and only once before at this house, so i mean it's not ...alarmingly frequent
