Now that's just cheating.

A somewhat large bird of prey has taken up roost in the tree over my driveway. On one hand, it's rad seeing it take off into the sky. On the other hand, it craps with the force of a dozen smaller birds.

One time, years ago, a goose bombed my teacher's car.

It was hilarious.

No it wasn't nearly that bad. But it was more the principle of "You just bought your very first new car by yourself and now life has dumped poop all over it."

Hopefully it wasn't an omen of the future to come.

Trouble kid was even worse this afternoon. This is the third consecutive day they've been difficult. Their parent is being completely unhelpful by giving me advice like "make eye contact" and "use a firm voice" when I spent half the bus ride trying to do exactly that to get them to obey. Also we told the parent that their kid was having bad behavior today and they were like "that's not bad behavior"

well what the hell do you classify as bad behavior because I think blatant disobedience counts as bad behavior

this child is just completely defiant and unmanageable and they achieve it by not doing a single daisies thing.

One of the lenses on my glasses got scratched somehow, and it's really irritating, because it is a very noticeable scratch.

Sounds like impulse control. The kid knows not to screw around when his parents make eye contact, or use a stern voice, but for other people it's fair game. You can try asking the parents what they do if the kid doesn't respond to their eye contact/stern voice and employing that. (Don't take "Oh he always responds to it!" There was a time where he didn't.)

This kid's parent has always been really unhelpful so I don't know if asking that will get any useful information, sadly. They have a toddler and they were letting the baby run up to the bus and touch the wheels and the door and the grill, despite multiple warnings that 'hey maybe you should keep your child away from a two-ton machine that is tall enough for them to walk under'.

I just have to hold out until next friday and then I'm moving on to a different job where I don't have to deal with kids on a school bus.

But speaking of which, one of these upcoming days is early release and the office had the BRILLIANT idea of putting a substitute driver on our elementary afternoon route, which is the route all of my trouble kids are on. Great job guys, stick me with a driver who won't know the kids and won't be able to help me deal with any problems that might crop up. They also won't know where they're going and they'll ask me to direct them everywhere, when it's NOT my job to give the driver directions to all the stops--my job is to supervise the kids. I can't pay attention to where the driver is going and also keep an eye on the students. Of course none of the sub drivers ever bother to get a map or test-drive the route because they assume the para ed is there to give them all the directions.

My regular driver and I are going to the dispatcher tomorrow to get that schedule switched so she can drive the route as usual. I just wish the people making the schedules would use their heads.

I really don't want to go to work tomorrow :( I've been really tired too because I'm having a hard time sleeping.

I ended up scratched the top of my foot raw so I can't wear socks or shoes, maybe this is how Shoolis got his name
I don't have any bandaids either, I should make sure I've got a kit around the house from now on.

This is an actual show Discovery is planning on airing and I am so fucking DISGUSTED right now.

This is animal torture.
Please read the comments and the article linked in the posts. I can't believe anyone thought it was okay to film and air this kind of cruelty.

And, I know we aren't really allowed to advertise for things on this forum, but I would ask that anyone who cares about animal welfare would sign the change.org petition linked on that page and write to Discovery about the show. I want Discovery's idiot CEOs to realize this shit won't fly.

Stepdad's still drunk from last night, hasn't slept, and has been shouting to be heard all night so he sounds like a delirious throat cancer patient. I'm trying to think of a way to kindly tell him to shut the fuck up.

Offer your mother a pair of earplugs, apply a pair to yourself in front of the stepdad, and then calmly leave the room.
