I don't get how being judgmental or intolerant in itself, rather than being judgmental and intolerant towards certain things, is apparently wrong. I wonder how many times the words "judgmental" and "intolerant" has been used in place of the word "observant" or to mean "has a basic sense of right and wrong".
I'm reminded of how so many people act like "keep an open mind" is some kind of magical "I'm right" phrase. You don't tell someone to keep an open mouth when someone's trying to shove a grenade or pee in it.

I spent $150ish dollars mailing a girl in Sweden a bunch of US snacks for this food exchange thing, and she was extremely excited for like a day when she got it and now I haven't heard from her in a week; yet I have her on facebook and know she's been seeing my messages.

We're not dating or anything but I'm still pretty miffed that all of a sudden there is zero communication; it makes me wonder if I did something and why she won't just tell me what I did if that's the case.

Maybe she's in the hospital because of food poisoning

Imagine the most annoying thing possible and think about how you'd feel about it.

Now multiply your reaction tenfold.

Now do it again.

This is how I am feeling right now.

I was all set to go to sleep and the most annoying emergency alarm starts blaring. Not even thinking, I rush outside while my smart roommate stays behind. The only thing I grabbed was my key card. I didn't have shoes on. I was in shorts and a t-shirt with socks.
We're evacuated outside.
The ground was wet from rain.
We were out there for a solid ten minutes and guess what happens
It starts raining again
We were stuck out there for practically twenty minutes in the rain, most of us unprepared
The fire truck finally showed up, and it took them twenty more minutes to inspect the building

The best part?
For all we know, it was a false alarm

I hope for their sake that no one in the entire building finds the walking piece of garbage who's responsible for this

It would probably depend on the anticipated happenings of the next day as far as my reaction. If I'm not getting up until 2 in the afternoon anyway, fuck it. If it's drill weekend, heads will roll. All of them.

Happened constantly when I was in high school, there were two ***** who loved to smoke right under smoke detectors or simply pull the alarm. They used to do it once a week before getting caught and being expelled.

I hate how my ex is telling everyone how her new bf is so much better than me. I mean, I got over my jealousy, but this is just mean.

I've never met a single woman who does this that I can call a good person. I've never had it done to me personally but every time I've seen a friend go through this, it was with someone I genuinely thought they were much better without.

Thanks a lot. I just ... didn't expect her to be this kind of person.

You learn a lot about a person when they stop trying to dress themselves up to date you. One of my ex girlfriends was an alcoholic at 15 and had drugs in the back of the car every time we had been on a date, and didn't bother to tell me any of this until after we broke up.

I can't speak for your ex personally though and there is a chance she's doing it on purpose to get back at you because she's hurt, but that's still not a nice thing to do to a person and shows there is some growing up she needs to do.

Yesterday while I was driving there was debris in the road. There was traffic and so I couldn't really swerve to avoid it. I did the best I could to dodge it but I still hit some of it with my tire.

A few minutes later I'm at a red light, and I noticed the smoke. I managed to get home, though the car stalled a few times while driving. Dad and I poked around and thought that one of the rocks had hit the exhaust line, so we decided to take it in to get it looked at today.

On the way there, the car stalls again. Permanently. I had to get it towed the .7 miles I was away from the repair shop. Which was dumb, but fine, whatever.

Guy finally gets a chance to look at my car. Whoops, turns out the rock punched a grapefruit-sized hole in my oil pan. All my oil was gone. I drove my car at least 2 miles with zero oil in it.

Guess what happens when you do that.

The entire engine locks up.

The

entire

engine

So it's either $2000-$3000 for a completely new engine, or we scrap the car entirely. Today was swell, it what I'm saying.

Any chance insurance would cover it?

Possibly, but we're not going to hear from them until a few days from now. Basically they're gonna' pick up the car and take it to one of their inspectors, and do an in-house estimate of the damage. If it's cheaper to fix the engine than to replace the value of the car, they'll do that.

Though this car is kind of a jalopy by this point so they're probably just going to write off the whole car.

Either way, I now have no car for several days. Fortunately I can walk to work.
