I've been feeling sick for a while. Horrible in the mornings, better as the day progresses. The problem is, it isn't bad enough to justify missing anything for a sick day or something, just enough to be a major pain.

Expanding on that "school is about working, not learning" thing, I'm just utterly baffled how seemingly so few people realize this. I'm especially baffled at myself that not once in the over a decade long time I was in school did I ever question that it's even called homeWORK, not homelearning.
I even remember that I once had a teacher who would sometimes assign extra homework to the whole class not because she thought the class was falling behind in learning or anything, but as punishment because some students were being loud. And then she would wonder why the class didn't seem to want to learn.
Who would ever guess that treating (what's supposed to be) learning as something to hate would make students see learning as something to hate?

Elementary through high school is to teach the basic concepts and that's it. The knowledge will give the most basic of education but it's nothing special.

If people want to learn then they go to college and university. That's where homework is intended to facilitate learning about a particular field and subject. Prior to that it's just to keep the kids occupied.

My roommate moved out at the beginning of the school year and is living somewhere off campus now. I got some mail that belonged to him at the beginning of the year, returned it to the post office, and have gotten it back TWICE. I even wrote on each piece of mail that he doesn't live at the address listed anymore. What the hell am I supposed to do to get it through UPS's collective thick skull that he lives at a new address now? One of the things he has is a letter that looks pretty fucking important.

Well what are they supposed to do with it? Did you supply his new address? They're gonna need that to do anything with it, otherwise your dorm is the only place they CAN send it

What about returning it to the sender? That's what return addresses are supposed to be for I thought.

Yeah that would also be an option. Though if it's some sort of official document or bill they're likely just re-send it.

Best bet is to just find the guy and give him his mail and suggest that he change his mailing address

The mailing system in the US is stupid anyway

Ever since my parents have been newlyweds they've been getting mail for a guy named Kenneth Brown. He doesn't exist. Even time they move, Kenneth follows them. Even when my parents try to return the mail and say 'no such person', we still get Kenneth mail. We've tried to talk to the post office about it and nothing happened.

A while ago we started getting mail for Julie Brown and Zach Brown too.\

One time we wrote on a letter addressed to Kenneth that he was deceased. Next week we got mail addressed to him for cremation services and burial sites.

A likely story. You mauled him to death and stole his house, didn't you?

Shortly before closing the worst customer came in, she just zoomed past me even though I said we're closing and I wasn't able to stop her.
Jesus fucking Christ I hate her so goddamn much, everyone hates her, and she always comes in a few minutes before we close, and then always brings some bullshit, and we can't ban her from the shop because what she does is not a cogent reason.

On top of that, the help we had did a lot of things wrong with handling the lady, and didn't even let me finish so she was just an unstoppable trainwreck and she didn't even ask how we did stuff in our shop and now I am home super fucking late because of these assholes and I have to go to work one hour earlier tomorrow and

fucking christ I am so rustled I am bodaciously lava

Two group presentations due this week, one of which is going to be absolute shit. I was tasked with making the PowerPoint, and everybody said they'd send me their research so I can compile it. Out of the three of them, one group member actually sent it to me, one can't get her e-mail to send to me for some unknown reason, and one none of us have heard from since we were assigned the presentation. It also needs to be twenty minutes long and have a skit, I can't meet with anyone because of my class schedule, and I KNOW no one else will meet up and plan the skit.

I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects I hate group projects.

Had 11 pallets of stuff come in from 5 different trucks within the span of an hour. I think I spent more time moving stuff around to make room than I did actually putting it away.

Despite the summer reading program having ended, we're still getting more patrons visiting the library than we've had all year. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't all teenagers and kids. Once 2 O'clock hits we just kinda keep our heads down and wait for everyone to leave, we simply can't keep up with the legions of children making forts out of books.

Got denied my study bucks for August because apparently I had not earned enough credits that month so I sent an appeal explaining that fuck you, yes I did, here's why. Now I have to wait another 2+ weeks for an answer and I really need that cash.
