Things that piss you off

Marcato, can't you see she's only being pouty and junk to hide her true feelings from you? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, I'm kidding.
My dad is uncomfortable, so he wants us to leave this awesome library to go back to the house with no internet. I am pretty sure this library has a couch in it. Is he uncomfortable being around people?

i have lost my patience with the stray dogs that hang out around my house and bark all day/night
i've loaded my bb gun and it's time for war
they've called down the thunder
now they'll reap the whirlwind

And then I stumbled in the stairs on my way to get a screwdriver to remove the blind that's been preventing me from putting the mosquito net in place for months so I can finally open the fucking window next to the computer so I don't burn alive (since my father decided to put a dehumidifier right next to my bed in the basement and I can't hear myself thinking so I can't stay in the only place in the house where the temperature is bearable, and he's refused to remove the blind before because "it's not worth the hassle") and seamingly broke my toe, so now I'm drowning in humidity and can't walk around and can't get some relief from the heat and I have to work tonight. My father took 20 minutes to notice I was limping (he was too busy making plans to meet his friends) and after that he begrudgingly fixed the window while being passive-aggressive about it. Took him a whopping 3 minutes, I can see why it couldn't be done back in May.

Re: Things that piss you off
I was in the middle of cooking 4 pizzas last night for 8 people for dinner while everyone else was busy doing other stuff, when mom came in. She was mad that the kitchen "was a mess" because I left the empty box of pizza dough mix on the counter and there was a drip of pizza sauce on the stovetop that SHE had left there when I asked her to heat up the sauce while I ran to the store to get the dough mix.
She complained that she always had to clean up after me and that I needed to learn to "not make messes" when cooking or clean up after myself before getting to the next project.
This disregards the fact that I had been cleaning up flour that spilled out of the mixer, the olive oil that I soaked up after my neice accidentally dribbled it on the floor, the 3 other boxes of dough mix I did throw away (the last one I kept to remember to set the timers right on the oven), the 3 pans that I washed that were disgusting from when SHE didn't clean them properly the other night from making cookies, and the fact that I did all of my cleaning without a working sink in the kitchen.
I am so fed up with her storming in and bitching about what I'm doing when I'm cooking. I usually have to wait for people to gather to eat anyways, and I clean in my downtime, like when the last pizzas are in the oven, which was right when she came in and bitched. I'm not going to clean up something when I'm fist deep in dough, and when people are bitching at me to get food on the table in a certain time frame, I'm not going to worry about cleaning the stovetop every time something spits grease. She knows I'm not a slob and that I clean up after myself, I wash the pots and pans at home and hang them when I'm done everytime I cook, but for whatever reason if the kitchen isn't spotless WHEN I'm cooking, I'm the asshole ruining her kitchen or making her clean up after me.
She pulled this last week and I told her that I never asked for her to clean up after me, and if she doesn't enjoy it to stop doing it. Besides which she's in my way when I'm trying to cook, and one time cut in front of me to clean something when I had a pot of boiling water in my hands. But no, if she doesn't do it, clearly it won't get done.
She's also been having memory problems and snaps about it, she scared my neice today after having a conversation with her and then turning to me in the kitchen and saying "Hey, where's your neice, did she come in yet?"
God I need an actual break from her.

My Parents Are Terrible: The Novel
Kind of thinking of going away from my parents for a while. They keep giving me the "We've done all this for you, and THIS is how you become?" speech. Also the "Why aren't you like So-and-so? You could've been like them if you weren't on the computer all the time!" and let's not forget the "You're settling for a terrible person. He won't support you. He doesn't have a degree. You don't really know him. You're going to be his (sex) slave." They also want me to give back the computer Noff gave me. I'm trying hard to stay neutral, because I know they have some points, and that they just want what's best for me, but the way they say it, it's implied that if I go down this road, then it'll be a waste for them and all they've done.
They're also mad that I didn't tell them about him sooner, and about his other various presents. But when I told my mom about my amazing 8-bit rose that he gave me, her face fell. She thought it was cool at first, but then realizing it was from him she hated it. And I don't know what to do about this computer. It's all a pride thing. They don't want me to keep it because it's a sign that I'm "easy" and that we could very well afford it, but they don't get me things like this because I don't need it. My mom wants to pay him back, but my Dad wants to just get rid of it entirely.
I'm just really fed up with this nonsense. They put an image of him without even knowing him. Everything good about him that I say doesn't even matter at all. Granted, they have a right to think that I'm lieing to them, given that I've lied for a good 2 years. But, always think about how mom lied to me. Like, all the time as a kid. And she continues to do so to my little brother, just so he'll shut up and think that he's gonna get what he wants. And Noff actually encourages me and helps me out when things are tough at school. And is proud of me when I got my club scholarships and even got into a private university. (Mom didn't really care. She gave it a nod, because of the cheddar, but the recognition meant nothing.) Mom and Dad kept repeatedly telling me that I am being really dumb, and that I'm going to end up just like all their other teenage friends that "fell in love" at such a young age. As much as I want to heed their advice, they're comparing me to other people again, and I hate it.
The kicker is, they don't want to let me see Noff when he comes and visits for 9 days. I'm thinking of staying with a friend for those few days, because THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL that I am going to miss seeing him for all of those days! They don't think they're coming here for me, they think it's some regular family road trip across a country to a state that is 10 times hotter than their province. Either that, or they can visit me in my house everyday. That's terrible. Dad will have his hand on his gun like, the whole time. Doesn't matter that his family is coming, oh no, he's just going to get me pregnant, ruin my life, and then make me his slave forever. Although, my mom did consider letting me bring my little brother along for reassurance..? I don't know why she'd suggest him since he's so small, but whatever. I'll bring him, it'll be fun showing him around the city we hardly ever adventure around.
Really considering running away for a day or two. But I don't think that'd help very much, and it'd be kind of like running away from problems, wouldn't it? Sure, I'd get peace of mind and out of a toxic household, but I don't want them to get really mad at me and just drag me back to the house again. I know I'm 18 now, a legal adult, and can move out, but I have no cheddar whatsoever. I can't even drive yet. The American law does not apply in this household anyway. Not to my parents, at least.

Last week: "You'll be working 7-5 until further notice."
This week: "You'll be working 7-7 until further notice."
GOD. DAMMIT.
Is this even fucking legal?

Re: Things that piss you off
As long as they are giving you overtime beyond 40 hours, and giving you at least one break for every three hours that you work, then yes. Also, you have to have a lunch break if you're working eight hours or more.
Re: Things that piss you off
So is the overtime where you guys live just >40 hours in a work week, or does it include >12 hours in a 24 hour period?
Or is that just in my state for the company I work for to ignore?

Re: Things that piss you off
I know that if you have less than 8 hours in between your shifts, they have to give you overtime pay for that. I don't know about just 12 hours in a day when it's all one block, though.Reyo wrote:So is the overtime where you guys live just >40 hours in a work week, or does it include >12 hours in a 24 hour period?

Re: Things that piss you off
It was mentioned back when I worked at the restaurant (you know, when the employees either worked all of the hours, or none of the hours?)
It's mostly because you can work 3 12 hour shifts over the span of 3 days and still not count for overtime for the whole week, despite how unbelievably shitty it is to work 3 consecutive days with 12 hour shifts.

Re: Things that piss you off
I dunno. I did it while being the closing manager of a store all last summer. Except I went like 20 days in a row, because the other managers all thought it was a fuckin' rad idea to take their vacations one after the other in the busiest part of the year.
Re: Things that piss you off
Does anyone know what the deal is with treating someone who's actively angry about something as though they shouldn't currently be actively angry about that thing? And why it is that the people acting this way are typically a part of the original problem in the first place?
Because, seriously, I don't need to be made to look like the bad guy because YOU forgot to rectify the schedule after I got back from my time off, and I happen to be peeved about that. Especially since 50% of it is because I ran into this very issue when I worked last on Sunday, and was told it'd be fixed by today.
But yeah, no, I'm an asshole for feeling the need to get a bit assertive to make sure an issue that caused me to quit my last job gets fixed.

Brother keeps watching youtube when I play games. Which completely kills my signal. I mean complete stop. Can't do a god daisies thing, can't see anything. His video runs fine. He won't stop. Maybe there's some way to prioritize bandwith and it's gone to his computer, but I don't know it.
I had a dream which was not all a dream
