Re: Things that piss you off
I may have said this before but in any case it warrants repeating.
I hate when someone is suggested a better way of doing something and they IMMEDIATELY claim it doesn't work after they half-assedly try it once.

Shit day at job
Everyone is unhelpful and stupid and have ludicrous demands ("Would you give me cheddar in exchange for these unsorted, dirty, drippy bags of empty bottles without me telling you how many there are?") and pick the worst possible moment to show up (like when the entire counter is covered in crap someone wants to buy 20 minutes from now, or while I'm busy wiping the ooze that came out of the unsorted, dirty, drippy bags some douche finally accepted to count) and the hate train just won't stop. The end of July can't come fast enough.
Good thing I don't work tomorrow (national day) so I don't have to put up with drunk morons.

Friend is going to be homeschooled. That's fine and everything, but when I saw the reasons I got super-rustled. It was because their social studies teacher showed two R-rated movies, our summer reading involved the F-Word and a racist comment(it's "A Lesson Before Dying". From what I gather it's partly about racism), and a book we're going to read next year has a rape scene in it. Not for academics, so their innocent child can avoid being brought to face the real world. They're mormon. I really wanted to scream at them on the facebook post, but burning bridges doesn't help anyone, so I didn't. But it annoys.
I had a dream which was not all a dream

Re: Things that piss you off
Having an issue with developing the characters in my story line. I recently decided to try switching one of the main characters from male to female, just to see how it would play out storywise.
Almost immediately, without changing much in the way of plot or characterization, the character goes from "guy who is suspicious of everything that happens because he is a naturally cautious person" to "girl who freaks out every time something happens to the other main character (who is male), making it look like she's a jealous clingy girl with a secret crush on him or something."
This frustrates me to no end. I hate, hate, hate the mentality of "This story has two characters, they must obviously fall in love because." I want everyone in my story to stay platonic. But now I'm running into issues with this, where scenes that read one way when character B was male read differently when s/he's female.
It works both ways, actually, as if I leave B male, it means that no female main characters will show up for a very long time, other than antagonists. And there are some scenes that go better with B being female than male, enough that the issue is still divided enough that I don't want to just drop it and leave B male as before.
I'm frustrated because there are problems on both sides, and I can't decide what to do.

rewrite the tone and personality of the cautious bits? There's a difference between:
...Her breath quickened and her nostrils flared. Could he really be such an idiot to not see what the consequences of this would be? Did he have no sense of danger, no concern for his own safety? Then there was the possibility of dragging her into it too, and quite frankly, that was the last situation she wanted to be in...
As opposed to:
...What the hell? She couldn't believe him! How could he go and do something like this? She started to freak out as she ran through all the ways that it could go wrong for the both of them...

Does anyone actually sincerely believe that everyone is 100% in control of their own happiness? All these motivational quotes saying so just seem like the epitomre of pseudo-profound bullshit.

Whoooops accidentally drank a whole bottle of mead and stayed up all night.
Guess my schedule will be all kinds of screwed tomorrow. Today. Whatever.

Being pop flyin' for the sake of being pop flyin' isn't necessarily easy, but I don't think it's impossible.
Being FitBit friends with Dire is like the most painful thing ever

Ordered food today and I got the wrong order. Now I'm waiting forever again to get what I actually ordered.

Was browsing a blog that normally posts scary stuff but it's mainly urban legend stuff which I usually enjoy
but one post was of a real event and it was in a lot of detail and now I've been sick to my stomach for a while and I can't sleep
There was even a warning in the beginning but since I'm a stupid fuck I kept on reading

Been running around the last week and finally have the day to do what I want and unwind.
Too bad I'm tired as fuck and my back hurts.
Damnit.

Re: Things that piss you off
y'know it was really nice to have a good interview and all, but it would be even better if the lady would tell me whether or not I've got the job by Tuesday like she said she would
