Brief conversation about HIMYM led to this:
"I heard Cobie Smulders is gonna be in the new Captain America movie."
"I'd hope so, she was in the Avengers."
"Yeah,
barely."
"...Did you
watch the Avengers?"
"No."

My 3 year old nephew was really sick over the weekend and now both my mom and I got what he had.
I really hope it isn't the flu because it's feeling like it is. We tried to be careful around him and wash our hands all the time but since he doesn't understand yet that you're supposed to cough into your sleeve and not towards someone, it ended up being pointless anyway.
He also had PANK eye although thankfully neither of us show any signs of it so hopefully we didn't get that too.

Important test tomorrow? Check.
Woefully unprepared? Check.
All attempts at studying fail because the class notes are useless? Check.
Lie in bed for an hour? Check.
Roommate wakes me up because of an April fool's prank? Check.
Roommate wakes me up again to say it was an April fool's prank? Check.
Roommate wakes me up a third time when he actually goes to bed around 1:30 am? Check.
Goddamnit I want to punch through a door.

so we put this thing onto our cd's at the library. It's like a clear sticker, with the call number, barcode, the library's adress, and these weird metal bits. Removing the sticker renders the disc unplayable, there's a warning on it and everything. A deterrent to would be douchebags
We've found a half dozen of the stickers scattered around the library in the last few weeks, always in out of the way places. I found one myself today, the cd case sticking out of the shelf awkwardly, the sticker shoved in the corner.
The fact that it was one of my fav band's albums pisses me off more than the crime tho. It was Social Distortion's Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes, fookin beautiful album. I have my own copy, but still. Shit's personal now.

Sounds like you need some surveillance cameras to catch the vandals in the act.

Some of the JROTC people at my school started a petition around the school yesterday to get someone in the program that was high ranked demoted. They said she never did the physical training, and she was always skipping classes, so she didn't deserve to be high ranked. Anyway, any JROTC person that signed it got in trouble and had to write the cadet creed 20 times, and I think (not sure, just heard someone say it) that a couple people even got kicked out of the program for it. That made me mad, because it's a person's first amendment right to petition, so today I remade the petition and got a bunch of non JROTC people to sign it. Apparently, I've been reported and am going to get in trouble tomorrow. Kinda makes me mad.
I don't even care if the girl gets demoted or not, I'm just mad that they were punished for signing a petition.

Throw the word "integrity" in whatever epic speech you plan on giving. It's one of the 7 Army values, and it sounds like the leadership of that program needs a big, heaping dose of it.
Plus, it'll most likely throw them off that someone who's nonmilitary not only knows the 7 army values, but knows how to use it in their defense.
Also, here's the Commissioned Officers Creed, given that they're meant to be a pre-officership program.
I will give to the selfless performance of my duty and my mission the best that effort, thought, and dedication can provide. To this end, I will not only seek continually to improve my knowledge and practice of my profession, but also I will exercise the authority entrusted to me by the President and the Congress with fairness, justice, patience, and restraint, respecting the dignity and human rights of others and devoting myself to the welfare of those place under my command. In justifying and fulfilling the trust placed in me, I will conduct my private life as well as my public service so as to be free both from impropriety and the appearance of impropriety, acting with candor and integrity to earn the unquestioning trust of my fellow soldiers -- juniors, senior, and associates -- and employing my rank and position not to serve myself but to serve my country and my unit. By practicing physical and moral courage I will endeavor to inspire these qualities in other by my example. In all my actions I will put loyalty to the highest moral principles and the United States of America above loyalty to organizations, persons, and my personal interest.
Go nuts.

Using integrity is a great idea, thanks!
Also, "I will conduct my private life as well as my public service so as to be free both from impropriety and the appearance of impropriety, acting with candor and integrity to earn the unquestioning trust of my fellow soldiers -- juniors, senior, and associates -- and employing my rank and position not to serve myself but to serve my country and my unit."
Doesn't seem like that girl has earned the trust of her fellow soldiers, so that should be a pretty great quote for me to use if they really get onto my case over this.
