Wow my life is kind of a shitshow at the moment

I really just want to curl up in the corner and ignore everything.

I've got to sit here and do nothing for a million billion hours until the comcast dude comes and fixes the internet. The only site I can run is AZ, for some reason.

its so hard getting excited and shot down time i can't deal with this
12:58am we get like 50 texts from my sister basically saying she bought a house in perfect condition and we can have it if we want

that makes 3 major life occurrences (both of my jobs + this) where i bodaciously gave up then was handed what i wanted immediately after.

should i just stop trying or what i don't understand what the message is here
I think the main lesson is that everything society tries to say about "hard work" and "stubborn independence" is all an illusion, since most of the time it's "blind luck" and "random generosity" that equates to chances for success/success itself.

But then again I might just be at that age where such is the case.

I'm going to set something on fire. The internet barley works, my MP3 and 3DS are both out of juice.

People calling the PS4 the "beginning of the next generation"

Newsflash: the next generation started way back with the release of the 3DS
If you say handhelds don't count then it still started 360 days ago with the Wii U

People don't count Nintendo for some reason, even though they haven't gone into the red in like 20+ years. Wasn't it only recently that sales of the 360/PS3 outdid the Wii? Like last year or so?

Ehhh...going solely by sales on a matter of quality is not accurate. Otherwise that'd make something like Twilight one of the best stories of all time.

When people refer to "the next generation" they aren't always just referring to the tacked on next-gen description people associate with the new consoles. They're talking about the hardware involved, and the games coming out on them that will set the standard for what games are capable of here on in. It's not just about who got their console out fastest, but whether or not it really raises the bar in terms of game quality and the things that are possible on them. i haven't exactly seen anything groundbreaking from the WiiU so far or anything that sets the bar any higher. The 3DS does in fact raise the bar on whats possible on handhelds, as does the vita, but handhelds aren't the thing that determins what constitutes "next-gen"

Hell if you wanna make this argument, talk about PC instead. It's kind of always ahead of current consoles in terms of how much user driven content is available and the graphical quality of games. Nintendo is making cheddar, but not as much of an impact as of late.
Or, y'know, whatever.

My wifi is pooping out. Oh it handles a battle with over 96 people fine but stick in 8 plus less than 40 zombies and it goes down. Going to try rebooting it and see if anything changes.

However, people do not classify two systems made by the same company to be in the same generation unless they are redesigns. You wouldn't consider the Wii to be in the same generation as the gamecube any more than you would the PS3 to the PS2.

Besides which, the gaming media hyped up the 3DS and Wii U as "heralding in the 8th generation", and now all of the stories are about the "next gen" starting with the PS4 and Xbone.

It's all just general hype bullshit anyways. If the PS4 launched now and the Xbone came out next year, they'd spin it as the generation "finally starting properly" or something (and then spend 3-6 months bitching about how the launch didn't have 30 exclusive AAA games).

I was all excited about sharing this piece of music I created but now I find that there's probably a whole bunch of hurdles I need to jump over to convert a MIDI file back into something that sounds anything like the original composition I made.

This is an unpleasant feeling - excitement instantaneously crushed by bewilderment and apprehension.
