Re: Things that piss you off
Today was a pretty embarassing day at work, and to top it all off, hit my left thumb pretty hard with a hammer.
Re: Things that piss you off
My laptop kinda shat itself and now I have to either get it repaired or replaced, neither of which I can afford. So that's fun.
Side note: since my laptop died I have to borrow my dad's computer whenever I want to browse the internet and for some godawful reason he has windows 8, which is the worst thing ever, installed.

"Have you contacted [person]? Are you not permitted to? Did they refuse to contact me?"
"There is nothing more I can do."
Well miss I have a hard time believing you're not allowed to answer my questions.
I am this close to filing a complaint with the county's education board.

"We have done all we can at this time."
Really? I have the policies of the organization you work for pulled up right here, and they say you're supposed to do a hell of a lot more.
If I don't get a straight answer to at least one of my questions within the next day, I'm filing a complaint. I hope this liar gets fired.

There is a mosquito in my room and I can't go to sleep until it's dead.
Stuff goes here later.

I really hate it when Americans call something like a giant monster a "kaiju." Why do they do that? We have a perfectly good language with words that can be understood by Americans. Why would they put a Japanese word in the title of this American game made by Americans? And why would they fight a legal battle to keep that word in there? Just seems like they're being foreign for the sake of being foreign. It doesn't make sense to me.

Re: Things that piss you off
English uses words from hundreds of different languages normally. So normally that some words are only changed by pronunciation, and not always even that much.
Someone wants to use an existing word to describe an existing thing. That's not "being foreign for the sake of being foreign", that's understanding language.

Isn't Kaiju also the name of a movie genre? That games seems to be based directly on those movies. Also, Kaiju Combat is an alliteration, so the name sounds cooler and is easier to remember.
I'm okay with foreign words when they add something to the language. I think in that case Kaiju is more specific than Giant Monster and also gives more information about the game.

The assistant principal at my school. A girl borrowed photoshop from me and is refusing to return it. (Legally, since she intends to keep my property, it's now theft) and I'm trying to contact her parents. The school can't give me yet email addresses, but they're supposed to facilitate communication, so I see absolutely no basis for their refusing my request to ask the parents to contact me, except that they've bought into the girl's slandering me by saying I've threatened her.Vax wrote:Who is it you're contacting?YCobb wrote:"We have done all we can at this time."

Can't you call the police or something?
Or just threaten legal action, even if you're not going to do it people don't like the idea of that shit.

Well that's the idea behind trying to get her parents to contact me.

Re: Things that piss you off
Honestly I wouldn't even threaten the action. I would just have a couple of cops show up either at the school, or at her house. Even if it's just to question them, it'll freak them out.
The problem is now EVERYBODY threatens legal action, so it's the default. Nobody balks at it anymore. Shit, even if you have to get a couple of buddies to DRESS as cops (which would be, in itself, illegal, but eh...) that'd work to.
