Some old friends are bashing Tropes vs Women in Video Games.

I don't follow it much, so maybe there are legitimate criticisms out there? But these sure as hell aren't legitimate. Most of them are downright factually wrong; one person in particular obviously didn't pay much attention to the video.

It's disappointing. I always knew these guys were immature, but I thought they were better than this.

Yeah there are legitimate criticisms.
One being that some of her accusations of tropes are just nonexistent and in others it makes you feel like she hasn't played more than 30 minutes of the game.
For example from what I've read, she accuses Psychonauts because a girl was kidnapped, but fails to mention that the whole frikkin' camp, boys and girls, got kidnapped, not just a single girl. Or she says Kingdom Hearts is somehow that trope even though it's not only Kairi that goes missing but also Riku and Mickey and that she also saves Sora in turn.
And that's only the two people were most upset about.
Furthermore she repeatedly says that kidnapped girlfriends are "a possession to be taken back" which is extremely sexist, as if men in video games only go after kidnappers because they want their little toy back and not because they love her and fear for her life or anything. As if she denies men any and all feelings.
What I can take from this, I only watched her first video because she already got plenty of cheddar from the idiots who paid her to make those videos, that anything bad happening to a female character in a game, no matter the reason for it happening or if there's male characters where the same happens, is bad and shouldn't happen. Women should be perfect, untouchable characters apparently.
And that's just BS.
Not even to speak about the amount of cheddar she got vs. the amount of cheddar you need to make a video series like that, or that the amount of episodes she wanted to make was twice as many as she now says she will make or that she said she would make the whole series within a year but instead is now only at the second episode after more than a year.
I'd want my cheddar back if I gave her any, but none of her supporters will because they didn't give her cheddar to get an objective point of view, they just wanted their mindsets supported.

There you have the gist of problems people have with this video series. I only watched the first episode but I can confirm the parts where her examples for the tropes are questionable at best and that she pretends men don't have feelings.

We're now after another strong rainfall during the night officially at flood warning 3 it seems. The water is at around 2.7 meters (that's about 9 feet) high, where the average is 70 centimeters (that's 2 feet and a bit).
