No it's a Dutch word, I was just using the first word that sprung to mind since the difference between a language and a dialect is vague and arbitrary anyway (though in this case glaringly obvious) and I'm not particularly good in obscure English dialects.

any word is a word if its said with relative frequence. that's how language evolves. 100 years ago "computer" wasn't a word but it's used every day now. it doesn't make it more of a word than "ain't" which is also used every day in some parts of the country by people who don't care about proper grammar

Valbrandur wrote:I reckon ain't is a word fer them southerners, with their famous accents.
/groan i hate the southern accent

inb4 then why do you live in texas (answer: i didn't ask for this)

my phone conked out last night and i suspect the battery is going out now. lots of little issues are just making me want a new phone rather than getting a new battery >< i was upset i might lose my $30/mo for unlimited everything legacy plan by upgrading, but apparently there's another plan for the same price with more data than i'll use so that works. still not pop flyin' that i have to drop ~$200 on a new phone but oh well, new technology is fun

I think ain't is a word but not many people know how to use it right. From my understanding it's a combination word meaning 'am not'.

"I ain't making dinner tonight."

i e-mailed my dad last night saying i was really depressed and i wanted to see a therapist and my mom wanted to talk to me about it

first she got mad because i didn't e-mail her and then she told me i was depressed because i miss college sometimes and then that was the end of the conversation

that was it

i like how my ex-boyfriend is more worried about my depression than my parents are

he even offered to find a therapist for me if my parents wouldn't bother

basically, it is a logical grammatical contraction that's just had the spelling and accent changed. Because seriously, Aren't and Amn't are awkward words.

'Is not' fits also with it, like 'That ain't right'

I'm not sure if you deserve that considering your choochoo is 20 minutes late.

Fair mad at R* since their social club thing has shat its pants instead of syncing with steam, nullifying my activation code and preventing me access for almost a month now.

I get annoyed when my family (and sometimes other people) pester me about getting a better job.
Especially when they send me adverts for experienced graphic artists. I'm not a graphic artist. I'm not experienced. I do not want my past time to be my income.
