basically. It's no big deal if the person using the coupons actually has bothered to read them, and uses them properly without arguing. At that point, it's basically as if we're just ringing something up that has a negative price.

My mom is going to hold this against me for days I just know it. But if I did go she would've gotten rustled at me for not socializing, even though I would have been using all of my energy just trying to stay awake

I lost either way

Oh whoops it's filled with dead ants.
Well that's wonderful.
Not only did ants get into your food.

But your food also poisoned them.

This is not a good day.

That hard work and determination was rewarded with death.
This is why I don't try.

Because I'll probably be couponing a lot when I move out.
Pretty much. Even if some of the coupons are expired/wrong, it's fine, it's when people know their coupons are wrong and try using fake ones and try to argue about sale prices when they know they're in the wrong that it gets irritating. I have these two ladies that come in and coupon shop and they've got everything organized in folders and binders and they're super nice and friendly and are always courteous enough to let others go ahead of them because they know they'll take a while at the register.

I mean honestly just being a friendly customer goes a long way for any cashier.

Yeah, don't fight about the coupons. We're on your side. Personally I like it when you can get a deal or if you've found a loophole in the coupon rules. Once I say there's nothing I can do or start politely hinting that I'm in an awkward position, please back off. Company policy is now that the use of a coupon without a corresponding actual coupon to go with it is the same as missing cash.

ok so we took my car to north houston yesterday so dad could take it to get the tires rotated/oil changed/etc and we took HIS car back with us to memorial city for the night.

we couldn't find an open visitor parking spot (visitor parking is ALWAYS full,) so we just parked it in a resident lot. we do have enforced towing at our complex, but we are supposed to get a 12hr notice/warning period where we can still move the car. our intention was to move it to a visitor spot in the morning. unfortunately, we forgot, but it shouldn't have been a problem because we'd still be able to move it because y'know 12hr notice period

except they DID tow the car, and didn't give us a warning or anything. the carpark where the car currently closed at 5, and didn't open again for night shift til 8:30pm. not terribly thrilled with management right now

I hate that my mother always tries to use expired coupons. She always says "They'll never check," but my thought is: "Isn't that the very first thing anyone checks, whether they're customer or employee?!"

She'll use it/try to use it if it's at most a month past expiration, usually less than that. To me, intentionally using an expired coupon is a form of dishonesty, especially if it's for a place you wouldn't normally go. ("Hey, I got this coupon for the restaurant that we've never been to and will never go to again. Let's take their cheddar!")

If it's a grocery store or Walgreen's or something yeah okay maybe but not something like that. It's just rude and it takes up everyone's time when you try to argue for it.

as someone who works in a service job like that

I can say I take great joy in pissing on peoples' days if they try and use old coupons.

"Oh, I'm sorry. These expired yesterday. All twelve of them."
"But can't you-"
"No."

The problem is that mom keeps getting away with it, so she keeps doing it.

You should be her cashier some time, and set her straight.

Is she one of those people who bitches and screams until she gets her way?

If so, then it depends on the manager/supervisor on duty at the time, since they would have the final decision in whether or not she gets to use the coupons or get thrown out.
