Well, I am unemployed right now. The fish processing factory I was working at won't get enough fish over the summer for me to continue working there until autumn is here. On one hand, I'm glad I don't have to work there but on the other hand, no cheddar.

Oh wow, so next semester our college is going to be charging a printing fee, 4 cents per page. And while this doesn't effect me too much, I know a few physiology majors that are going to be very rustled off. I'm paying how much to go to this school again and I can't even print my papers for free? Fucking unbelievable. I just hope the DMA building doesn't get this new system because we have to print stuff all the time, especially for stop motion.

My school's library has had printing fees for as long as I've been here, 10 cents a page, 50 for color. I figured it was a normal thing nowadays.

Most colleges I visited had free printing. I guess the only good thing about this is colored printing is going down from 25 cents to 11 cents. What I like is that they are trying to justify it saying that 80% of the population won't even notice. So I guess that 20% is going to have horrendous printing fees. Hope they work something out for people that have those survey projects because that's going to be a $20-50 print job (depends on the group).

UoP has a certain number of pages per day that's free.

Having to pay for pages though is almost always a direct result of someone abusing the privilege though. At the local community college they've had people try to print entire books in full color.

We kinda have a different thing.

We have $75 of tuition set aside for printing. This covers about 200ish pages that are "free". Any time you go over that, it gets put on a tab, and you have to pay it off at the end of the semester or it voids your grades or something major like that.

A lot of professors require printing out weekly readings, and since they're under some kind of limit as far as printing goes, they insist the students do it. in addition, a lot of printers don't allow double sided printing for whatever reason, even though the printers are capable of it, which means people burn through their 200 pretty quickly.

Not all printers have been put in the system though, so the ones that haven't are swarmed with people who need to print out lots of stuff, which pisses off the school because this system was supposed to curb the paper usage and that's not happening because professors don't give a shit.

I do pretty much all of my printing at home now. Sucks that I'm paying $75 for something I don't really use (though, I print about 50 pages a semester in last minute stuff usually), but it's better than relying on it and getting screwed out of more cheddar.
