I really don't like it when other people nostalgia over the "good ol' days" and do nothing but shit on the modern versions of things.

I get it, you think Cartoon Network and Pokemon suck now because they "pander to kids". Well guess what bucko, when you liked it, you were a kid. That's their audience and it no longer includes you.

So instead of crying over how your little brother thinks Gen 5 is the best and Clone Wars is better than the original Star Wars movies, maybe you should keep in mind that things are different for different people. This isn't the 90's or 00's. you can reminisce and enjoy what used to be, but stop being the guy that sucks the fun out of things and makes people wonder who invited you.

And I swear to god if I see one more person use the pokemon theme as the go to reference for pokemon, their childhood, "so they can fit in", or whatever fucking reason, I will decimate them. There is nothing more annoying than people referencing it out of the blue as a badge of honor that they belong. It's like girl gamer shit.

I'm pop flyin' that wireless trading is the go-to form now ever since the DS. I don't need that crap about how "analog is better", because most of the time, it's just more problematic.

Sort of like how I seethe whenever I see purists talk about how GENWUN was the best and had the most inspired pokemon and the best games. Compared to today's versions, Gen 1 was an imbalanced, glitchy, ugly game. Hell, compared to the games of its day, it was!

It really was, the only thing that made the games as popular as they were was the whole surrounding Pokemon merch that really helped add color and character to, what really was, a flat and uninteresting world. And then there's the Pokemon sprites in the first two games... I mean, I loved it as a kid, but looking back, its really not that good.

the only gen 1 game i still have is yellow and the sprites were updated so they're not SUPER bad. it's still a really inferior game though. very unbalanced and super buggy.

i prefer gen 2 only because i love that you get to go back to kanto. i wish the newer games let you go back to a previous region (like gen 6 lets you go to hoenn or something) like that. i could care less about the pokemon designs lol but i have grown less interested in them with the later gens? i think because they have more non-animal based ones and i find them a bit boring. i just was not impressed with black/white and never bought it, though i fully plan on getting x and y when they're released/i get a 3ds c:

My friend put up a status "I'm in a relationship with someone..." and then I realized that it was just a joke, and he proceeded to call himself "forever alone". God, it gets me so mad that he is like this. Being in a relationship won't solve all your problems. I think that if you go into a relationship hoping for that, then it's not gonna work out. What makes it worse is that he likes a mutual friend of mine, and she's already got her own personal problems and I think it just adds to her stress. (Especially since he was describing her and how much he loves her and why to someone on that same status in the comments, where she would be able to see it.)

Sometimes I think that it's because he smothers her a lot, and puts her on this high pedestal that she won't get with him. Besides the fact that he is openly depressing with this kind of stuff. Geeze, it's not even a romantic holiday and he just kicks himself down like that..
