My cousin thinks that the Connecticut shootings were fake because she's seen "convincing" videos online about this stuff, and believes the government caused this so Obama can take away guns so a Communist country can invade us and take over like Red Dawn.

This is kinda out of left field for her, so I think it's typical "fuck the government, my opinions are edgey as fuck."

Not sure which explanation would be better, because goddamn.
