I like all sorts of emoticons, I've just learned not to use them around you guys because AZ doesn't like them for some reason.

I feel like they're useless on a forum, chats are fine though.
On topic: I want it to be 4:30 so I can be home and try the rest of those amazing leftovers. Work goes by so much slower without being able to use my phone.

I generally find an overabundance of emoticons silly and the way they're used by some people comes off as crazy immature and dumb, but truthfully I use XD sometimes out of habit during short conversations or texting. Usually at the end of a message or something if it looks too emotionless or I want to show I'm in good humor or something.
It's the difference between saying
"Wow I fucking slept all day today and got nothing done."
and
"Wow I fucking slept all day today and got nothing done XD"
The first makes me feel like I'm coming across as bitter and upset, but putting the XD in the second kinda softens it and makes it not look like I'm rustled or something. I think I adopted the habit because even in real life I come off as a huge grump or being completely indifferent even when I'm not.

Honestly, I'm not sure why it irritates me; I feel silly that it does

Want to call my hospital because I need a psychiatrist but I don't know exactly how to ask for one because I know they can only refer me.
My mom asked yesterday but we didn't take the appointment because we thought the psych center could get me in sooner, but they ended up needing two weeks as opposed to the 3 days my hospital was offering.
So now I'm just sitting at home waiting for my mom because I don't know what to do and it's frustrating.

#1 way to lose your friends: continually assert you're right, never giving a single inch, and become mad when at said friends when people try to offer you help. you know better all the time, and age and experience mean nothing.

I've posted a lot about the problems I have with my laptop's trackpad. Yesterday it finally decided to keep those problems forever. Clicking when I don't want it to, jumping around everywhere, not responding to what I tell it to, etc. I'm lucky we have 4 or so extra mice in this house. One of which doesn't work with my home computer because the wireless receiver for it doesn't play well with the shitty USB ports I have.
On the plus side, plugging in a USB mouse disables the trackpad, and now I never have to deal with it ever again.
seriously someone just pick up a fucking phone

My folks are having, I think, the most idiotic argument ever. There is such a simple solution I'm thinking of doing it myself but holy shit they are both just passive-aggressively trying to get the other to do it.

I tend to do this too, and I used to be on a board that got on your booty for ANYTHING that could be taken as being a snarky asshole, which led to people reporting other people
they didn't like for things because "the younger members shouldn't see people being snarky like this!"
So I just occasionally sprinkle in relevant emotes into my posts, though nothing too annoying, hopefully.

I am absolutely famished and I've no cheddar to order any food.
We're out of food here too, what a horrible way to end a day

Well, this is kind of petty compared to everyone's real problems but:
I have so many papercuts from doing filing today. They are all in key places on my hands/arms. Examples include the side of my hand (where I put weight when I rest my hand on the computer), on my inner forearm, on the tops of most of my knuckles...
Most of them are manilla folder cuts, too, not just paper.
I know they'll be fine a day from now but for right now they are so freaking annoying.
