Oh my lord.
My boss is being the biggest cockmunch this side of the Free KFC parade.
I'm leaving in 20 minutes and don't need shit in my eyes.

Re: Things that piss you off
This might be better suited to the Tabletop thread, but it makes me angry, so:
My DnD campaign is reaching the epic finale soon, and all I can think about is all the stupid things a few people in the party are likely to do.
There's this one guy in the party who always does the crazy plans, and most of his plans boil down to "charm/enchant whoever, and then do crazy stuff." And most of the time, these lead to flirtatious/romantic encounters between his character and the NPCs.
It gets annoying not only because it happens all the time, but because the guy himself is actually very serious in real life, and he also really knows his stuff about the game (good strategies, how to deal with monsters). It's also more annoying now that I'm the DM, and I'm uncomfortable with this kind of roleplaying. I mean, he's known me for years, and he knows I'm (more or less) a prude, but he still goes on with it.
All I can think about is him trying to flirt with the city's goddess when she returns to the plane or some other drama-spoiling nonsense. But I can't say anything to him since I feel like players' freedom shouldn't be restricted, and because I respect him in areas outside the game, and I don't want to affect our friendship.
So all I can do is hurry through the finale and pass the DM torch along.

Make the goddess smite him because his flirtations offended her.

Well, she is a goddess of community well-being and neighborly affection/protection, so unless it's really egregious she wouldn't be too upset. It's just me that would be upset. But I should probably work up a smiting contingency plan just in case.Cori wrote:Make the goddess smite him because his flirtations offended her.
Not that he is likely to succeed at seducing her anyway, since she is actuallly a celestial couatl.

Maybe make it so that she knows of his past work and that after the charming/enchanting/whatever wore off, the people were upset about potentially being used and dumped for a cheap thrill, and since that's not really "neighborly affection" she'd be within her rights to call him out on being an asshole.Shining Charizard wrote:Well, she is a goddess of community well-being and neighborly affection/protection, so unless it's really egregious she wouldn't be too upset. I've had to deal with that in my campaign too, having a player that basically wanted to seduce and have the option to fuck every random NPC that showed up. Luckily, he got pissy when the dice cockblocked him, and I guess decided to spend his weekends jerking it instead of playing with us.
In the campaign my friend runs, we have another character that tries to charm everyone, but it's not for a cheap fuck as far as we know, but more of a really out-of-place anachronistic sense of chivalry. All the same, sometimes he's hamming it up when it's not needed and we do our best to get him back in focus.
Is is really common for tabletop campaigns to have players focused on sex? I mean, flirting with someone to distract them while you pickpocket them for an artifact or something is one thing, but actively seducing a string of people seems stupid in something like this, especially if it distracts from the other players and what they want to do.

Why do I always feel a twinge of guilt whenever I buy something fun
I hardly ever spend cheddar on things I don't need so why do I feel bad whenever I do
for fucks sake I even used cheddar that I had gotten for Christmas I shouldn't feel this way

Got to go to my current landlord's office to talk about the gas bill.
Got to go to my old landlord's office to talk about the whole not being able to pay them. Roommate is a family friend of them, though, and I heard she was thinking of letting me out of the lease early, only a couple months lefts anyway. Dreading going to either, though.

Teammate who missed the team deadline by two days and hadn't submitted anything by the time I did whined that I had done so without their submission, so they added theirs to the paper and resubmitted it fifteen minutes to the due date.
Listen you asshole. I don't care if you currently have a career and all kinds of busy things in your life. Not my problem. You made the commitment to this class and your team by enrolling in this university and I will not let your inaction screw the rest of us over. Your personal life is nonexistent in this class until you complete the assignments just like everyone else. The teacher won't care what the reason was if you fail to do your part of the project and neither do I. Pull this shit again and I will go straight to the teacher to have your name stricken from the assignment so you fail immediately and eat the $2000 it costs plus another five weeks and tuition to do it over.

Re: Things that piss you off
I am not rustled off and I am not sad, I am just overwhelmed.
$2100 of hospital bills to pay on top of my regular bills makes me feel like I will go nowhere. If my mother's high school friend hadn't let us stay in the little one-room cottage in her backyard I would be living in a homeless shelter with my mother because I do not have the resources to take care of myself. Sometimes I wonder if I should have broken off back in St. Louis like people were telling me to do, but the idea of leaving my jobless mother homeless with two dogs seemed cruel and I could not bear the guilt of forcing her into that sort of situation. (But I've heard the counter-arguments of "Well she's put you in situations where you've moved to four different states in less than two years" and I don't really know what to say to that.)
The job I have right now is good, it gives me full time and insurance, but I think working ten-hour graveyard shifts is starting to take its toll on me physically. I've gone to the hospital twice, I've had to have a nebulizer at home for asthma treatments for the first time since I was eight, people I talk to comment on how lethargic I've been, and my hypoglycemia has been triggered more often lately (which is probably due to not eating as much of the right foods as I should, but I don't have the cheddar to buy fruit and vegetables all the time and the family here always eats processed foods from boxes). Admittedly I don't sleep as much as I should, either. I have been having difficulty sleeping, but for what reason I do not know.
My mother finally got a job, which is good. Maybe things will be a turning point from here. I have probably just hit an emotional low, which is also good, because once I hit a low I always find a way to get back on top. I just wish my situation wasn't my reality.

Re: Things that piss you off
Taking care of yourself is hard when you're American. Fresh fruit and vegetables are almost always more expensive than cheap crap. Hell, companies over there are even ALLOWED to sell you incredibly bad 'foods'. I once bought a packet of candies which said in large bold, proud print: "ARTIFICIAL COLOURS!' like it was something awesome.
Then there's the quality of your 'fresh' food. I get the feeling than unless you buy organic (expensive) it's all genetically modified and other weird stuff. Also you gotta buy in bulk.
Even buying a single item could turn out bulky there. I bought an onion bigger than my fist because I only wanted one onion. It lasted us like 5 meals.
Opening a carton of eggs was horrifying. WHY ARE THEY SO WHITE?!

Being FitBit friends with Dire is like the most painful thing ever
Re: Things that piss you off
I honestly have no idea where you're shopping if fresh fruits and veggies are more expensive than junk food, Dire. Aren't you in Australia actually?
