The previous community I was a part of tends to have a metric shit ton of idiots. And my concept of "newfag" has been shaped by them I suppose. I don't try to be a dick but sometimes that's my natural reaction.

Of course, if I catch myself being a dick I won't post it and I've gotten really good about not being a dick publicly to newbies. If I am a dick it's in lighthearted fun now. But there will always be the ingrained reaction of "newbie = idiot" because of stupid shit that happened when I was an impressionable youngster.
