Art Thread
Re: Art Thread
It took me a moment to realize that those were flowers instead of fleshy stuff. I like that image.
Don't blame me; I voted for Kodos.

Re: Art Thread
How do I get started doing an art? I've got a wacom tablet that I've not really had a use for, so I've decided to learn to draw. I started today using drawabox.com, and it seems great so far, but I wanted to know if you guys had any specific resources you could point me towards.

I don't have any exact resources that could help, but I do want to say that you should never be afraid to have references when doing things. Having reference material is a great tool whether you want to have a scene with fancy Gothic architecture in it or want to imitate the style of your favorite artists.
Also, Youtube and Deviant Art are good sources for finding tutorials.
The only YouTube artist I follow at this time is Mark Crilley, who does a lot of tutorials for drawing characters. Most of it is in the anime/manga art style, but there's also videos on realism, shading, and a few videos for drawing specific characters, and most everything covered can carry over to other styles as you see fit.

Re: Art Thread

I realized that my hair is no longer an untamable mess that attempts to strange me at night, so I need to update my avatar.
Work-in-Progress pencil sketch.
Now that it is on a screen, I see that I need to make a lot of adjustments.

Your art style is cute
I like it, though I do have a question if you don't mind my asking. Do you solidify your lines before or after scanning? I used to just upload sketches but any digital art I do is done 100% digitally because I can't seem to get my sketches to scan in a way that allows for digital coloring.Airra wrote: Work-in-Progress pencil sketch.
Re: Art Thread
I used to ink them, but now I just put more pencil effort into it and adjust values in GIMP to clean them up.

This page needs more Nosecone. It does not stand up to my Nosecone to Non-Nosecone ratio.McShyGuy The Helping Toast Fairy wrote:YEAH TOAST!

Re: Art Thread
I misspelt a thing on the internet and people had already responded to it by the time I noticed.
I took the moment of dread that shall haunt me eternally in the form of occasionally popping up in my head for no reason, saying "hey, remember that time you did this thing" and then crippling me for seven hours and applied it to paper. I felt on paper.

Limbs are a pain.

Re: Art Thread

My sister made me draw a book. I hated how it turned out, so I added colors and now I hate it less.
