alright, I think I like this for the cover to Ch. 5. It's a slower, more explanation-driven chapter, so I figured having a less dramatic cover would work.

That's a good guide on how not to letter a comic.

Omni's link there is talking more in regard to conflicts between writers, artists and editors, but I've seen so many badly illustrated/over worded/poorly placed word bubble comics on dA where the page creator is writer, artist and editor; If you're making a comic entirely on your own you need to be half-decent at all these things to make a half-decent looking comic/comic page.

The basic rule with comics is to tell the story as much with the imagery as you can - too much dependence on text means you're doing something wrong; Simply put: "If you can explain it with a drawing, do it."
