due to me being horrible at updating consistently between work, school, and my unhealthy obsession with following Sloth everywhere every waking moment (and some sleeping ones), there's only enough comic to last about an hour and a half of reading. I plan on upping the production rate during the summer and maybe setting up at least a minimum page release schedule, starting next chapter (which is a grand total of two pages away). Like, I'll at the very least have a page up every monday or wednesday or something, since those tend to be the days that I have off.
Kane and Rhana aren't married. Rhana wants to, but Kane's fairly consistently been like "I got stuffs I need to sort out first." and then there was LOADSA DRAMA with the whole "whoops Tuxedo Mask is a terrorist no wonder he didn't want to meet daddy just yet"
But basically, until the issue of prison time and possible execution came up, Kane was planning on working that out in a few Seasons. Because they've been friends since they were 15 seasons old (Kane is 20 seasons old at the current point in the story, equivalent to about 22 years), so they ended up just kind of falling into that relationship, since their social circles overlapped anyway, they could kind of get away with it without anyone thinking that they were actually dating or whatever.
Rhana didn't want her people to know, because she wasn't sure how it would affect her family, given their various prestigious legal and political offices, and her dad is super "NO ROUGHHOUSING SOLDIER IS GOING TO COURT MY DAUGHTER"
Kane didn't really want to let anyone in on it (except for Nikunja, but that's because Nikunja butts into pretty much every aspect of Kane's life), because should he get in trouble, he didn't want Rhana traced back to him. So he was waiting until the coup was secured and successful so that it would be safe for Rhana to be connected to him. Even when he was excluding her, she was always the priority.
Also, the reason that Rhana personally got in trouble and was put in the potentially dangerous position of being Kane's chaperon is because the Kroatian criminal courts have rules about how personally attached a lawyer is allowed to be to the defendant, in order to prevent the lawyer from being compromised by the potential criminal's influences and using their office to gain access to things and tamper with evidence they've been allowed to view and the like.
So even though Kane plead guilty to all charges, and the possibility of Rhana tampering with anything or pulling any strings would have been completely ineffective, she still went against the Distance of Objective Association laws, so she's being penalized. She's going to have to pay fines and have her credentials audited when the whole thing is done.
