Going to keep working with this style now - and try to make it into something I can use in a graphic novel.
No more fan art.

Thanks.
I'm very inspired by the use of screentones/textures in manga black-and-white work - and I considered working in black and white for my own graphic novel work, but the characters I'm designing for my stories need to be shown in colour really.
Most of my difficulties regarding my artwork come from trying to balance the power of black-and-white textured work with colour; Hopefully when I've done 100 drawings in this style I'll have a better idea of how to implement it in a graphic novel.
I really need to spend most of my time practicing various kinds of scenery (trees, water, skies, rock, grass, etc).

Id suggest putting a lot of work into working on storyboarding and panels too, one thing Ive learned is that while sketches help you with artistic style, another important factor a lot of people forget is story pacing. Its harder than it looks.

Something I drew up for the
Tumblbot Masters art meme over on Tumblr. :> This is Pizzawoman and she, as you can probably guess, was built to cook pizzas. I was so predictable with this, hurr durr hurr. The big box on her back is there to let out excess heat and prevent her from overheating, seeing as though she’s cooking pizzas almost constantly.

It's going to sound like a broken record by now, but you keep getting better Zang.
I wanted to doodle simple stuff on wednesday, I really didn't expect that I'd get such good results. When I look at them, it feels so... mature. Sometimes it feels like my own art is telling me to keep going and not lose faith in my skils.

I finished this painting a while back, to me it needs a glossy black frame to make it complete.
This is still a work in progress
any comments?
