Re: Tech help general

Fine with me. I'd be starting the backlog off with Oblivion anyway so there's several months easy. By the time I work through all the old stuff I should be set to upgrade for the current stuff.

Almost identical to Shadowmoon's local psycho, Mutalition, right down to the class.

Grind insane title, then we will talk :> TIMBERMAAAAAAAAAAW. 1 rep per furbolg and the ones in Felwood went grey and gave nothing when you were 60. Or farm furbolgs in Winterspring with everyone and their mom simultaneously snatching the chi...

Re: Tech help general

Computer is dying a slow death. No idea how long it's going to last, and I've got the cheddar now, so it's a matter of convincing the parents I need a functioning computer for college.

And with a mere 400 something price tag the advantage is mine.

Well she is very tiny. Wasn't there a comic where Jeph of QC picked her up, then when Ananth picked her up he picked them both up?

Re: Tech help general

Also for the ones who asked, you do pay income tax with every paycheck, usually automatically deducted, to state and federal. However, if you make less than $8000 in a fiscal year then when you file your tax return as a single zero (single, no dependents) then you get everything they took back. And ...

Re: Tech help general

Interesting. I'll definitely keep this in mind. Another job and I can grab the parts and get to work with construction.

Re: Tech help general

Individual parts usually have warranties. If you do ruin anything, it will probably be the motherboard; they near-universally have warranties. Also are you sure you don't/won't pay taxes? I don't know where you live, but in America I thought you start paying income taxes as soon as you get a job. a...

Re: What makes you pop flyin'?

Wrote up a short summary of a story called Insatiable Arms. Basically something about how a destructive god's essence is bound up in five items through which gateways to his prison can be opened, which are the equivalent of black holes into his gullet. The story centers around the one person uncorru...

Re: World of Warcraft

Because otherwise you would be camped mercilessly when the lowbies logged off after having their quest giver get slaughtered for the millionth time and hunted you down on their 60.

Safety in numbers mostly.

Re: Tech help general

So I definitely still need a complete hardware upgrade to even think about using PCI-E then. Alright, I'll keep that in mind.

Re: Tech help general

Monitor (15 inch LCD), keyboard, and mouse would all be recycled. Possibly the RAM as well. It works well and I have a good amount of it.

And PCI-E fits PCI slots? Hmm, though that wouldn't make much of a difference with a Pentium 4 anyway. System as a whole needs the upgrade.

Re: Tech help general

Isn't PCI-E the thing nowadays? To be completely honest I want a computer that can run everything there is today and will run games for a couple years down the line at any setting low or otherwise. I honestly don't mind low graphics and such when there's awesome gameplay to be had. Otherwise I'd nev...

Re: Tech help general

I honestly can't tell if it's fast due to the graphics card. Sad thing is it's the best one for PCI, which they don't even MAKE cards for anymore. It's like the floppy disk drive; familiar but not something to be used.

A couple years ago I added the RAM though.
