Re: The Binding of Isaac

Got Rebirth and beat Satan on my 5th run. Another absurd run with Cain where I got the Prayer Card and 9 volt battery right at the start, racked up devil deals and maxed out health. Does that still count as beating Mom's Heart for the first time as well, since I didn't open that chest?

The discussion doesn't have anything to do with the principle of "innocent until proven guilty". That principle does not excuse you from facing trial.

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for

It could have been an issue with keeping track of programs. The specific example I was thinking of was trying to launch Zune media player right after installing it. The program showed up as the first result, but when I hit enter it still sent me to a search page that pulled from the Marketplace. Th...

Re: The Current Events Thread

Here is a (possibly incomplete) list of protests in the US. One could mark down which ones are racial and which ones were met with excessive force.

Re: The Current Events Thread

The way I see this incident, in the best case scenario it's a consequence of poor police training and procedures. In the worst case, it's cold-blooded murder. In an ideal world, there is no need for an unarmed suspect to ever get shot and killed. Now, we obviously don't live in an ideal world, but i...

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for

The automatic scrolling priority is already present in Windows 8, but that could be specific to the Surface Pro line since it seems to interface with Windows 8 a bit differently/better than traditional laptops do. The search feature is a huge step backwards from 7, though - typing in the full name ...

Re: The Binding of Isaac

I was playing BoI at break in school today, and had a truely ridiculous run with Cain, starting with finding Brimstone in the first cursed room. I found the shovel later on and decided to go kill Satan. Disposed of him without much trouble. So now I'm officially done with the game since I'm not much...

Re: All topics unimportant enough to not create a thread for

Partly related to the topic: I think we should have technology literacy classes in schools. It's been a while since I was in, but there was only a typing class at the time. Interaction with technology is at least as important as maths or history these days. While most younger people grasp tech easi...

Re: Gameplay vids & Screenshots

Is that some weird mix of turn-based and real time or something? The way the enemies moved around was odd.

Re: Technology Thread

Inb4 Far Cry 4 gets hacked and it turns out to run fine on dual-core. But yeah, multi-threading has been slowly becoming more prevalent for a while, and this is a good thing. No need for budget gamers to panic though, i3s with 4 effective threads will stand their ground for the foreseeable future an...

That was just an extreme example, I'm sure the game runs fine on stock i3s too.

IIRC it might have something to do with preserving the copyright, if they don't enforce their right they might lose it or something. Still sucks of course.

Re: Technology Thread

I don't think it's Intel because the AMD FX-8350 is listed as well, where the 8 cores are almost certainly overkill too.

Re: Technology Thread

Remember Shadows of Mordor and it's recommended i7? Turns out it runs just fine on an OCd Pentium G3258.

One really begins to wonder who exactly writes these system requirements.
