Don't use Ian armor on Lagi. That stuff is weak to Thunder. Barroth is arguably the best choice, with it's attack boost and thunder resistance. As would Gigginox set for it's Constitution Trait for guarding and dodging so you won't lose much Stamina.

This is why I like lancing over great swords and long swords. Also stick to attacking his sides, it works wonders.

Lagi ain't so bad, once you get the right equipment that is, also his attacks aren't to tough to dodge/block save for the SPARKS EVERYWHERE attack
