In SMT IV, from quickly skimming over it, it improves Critical hit ratio and I think the chance of status conditions happening.

Tl; Dr:
Luck over 50 raises all your skills except athletics and acrobatics by 0.4*(luck - 50), as well as probably influencing a lot of other situations where things are created randomly.

Anyone else noticed how Blaziken's "ears" and the tufts of feathers(?) coming out of its chest form an X?
And the yellow fur on Lucario's chest looks like a Y.
