So yeah. This weekend so far. Hit the Nonpoint/Gemini Syndrome show last night with my brother. Pretty much perpetual ear-busting metal thrashing all night long. The opening bands were better than I expected as well. I think I stretched my neck muscles headbanging during Gemini's set; I'm still sore...

Wow, Amalur has an incredibly shitty final boss fight. Tirnoch is absolutely gargantuan so I was expecting a real fight. I mean fucking hell, she could have squashed me under a single claw but she leaves all the fighting to barely-above-average mooks.

And now it's time for the best part of any RPG: Leaving your allies standing outside the final dungeon while you put the main plot on hold to mop up the rest of the game.

Stepdad's still drunk from last night, hasn't slept, and has been shouting to be heard all night so he sounds like a delirious throat cancer patient. I'm trying to think of a way to kindly tell him to shut the fuck up.

I think I'm standing at the front door of the final dungeon in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. I've hit the level cap as a pure warrior. 50 hours. It's got its flaws, but it's been a while since I've played a game so satisfying. The second half of the main plot is significantly bleaker than the first...

I finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman recently.
