Re: The Current Events Thread
Okay, while I'm against outright banning firearms, I've gotta say, that's just asking for trouble, for obvious reasons. Now, I've got a question about the church shooting. Didn't the shooter post pictures of himself with guns and rebel flags, spouting racist propaganda or something like that? With a...

Re: The Current Events Thread
Bullet "proof" vests are (at least in this state) legal for civilians, and actually cheaper than a gun, but you need the ceramic plates to stop a rifle round. You can use steel plates, but they're a bit heavier. Although, they can stop more than one shot. To be honest, though, chances are (currently...

Hugs are a little bit more personal than a handshake, you know.

Re: The Current Events Thread
I wouldn't bother with anything full auto. Waste of ammo. But rifles aren't the best choice for crime, usually. Granted, there are cases where it's "better" to use a rifle, but for holdups and such? Most of the smart criminals say to use a revolver, not a semi-auto. Revolvers don't eject casings. A ...

Re: The Current Events Thread
I have a gun because twice someone has broken into my house. Twice, the police did nothing. Didn't even file the fucking report. I bought a gun, so that if I catch someone forcing their way into my home, I won't have to beat the guy to death with a hammer. One shot, even if I miss, and he isn't comi...

Re: The Current Events Thread
The guy could have also decided to use a bomb. Tighter gun control would have just changed his method. The only real way to get rid of prejudice is to put such people under a form of social quarantine, and you still would have to find those who think that way, but aren't vocal about it.

Re: The Current Events Thread
It doesn't change the fact that you keep saying all we have in our history is slavery and murder, as well as saying that we're all racists because we're "not doing anything," when that isn't the case. You know (or should know, at least) that our justice system, fucked as it is, won't let this bastar...

Re: The Current Events Thread
Actually, most of the people I've met who display the confederate flag aren't racist and totally hate the idea of slavery. Further, the civil war was more about the right of states to secede. Lincoln once said that if allowing slavery to continue would save the union, then it would continue, but if ...

Re: Confessions
Random topic/question: When was the last time you cried? I'd have to say the most recent time I can recall doing that was when I took my sister's cat to be euthanized. She (the cat) was pretty affectionate, and on the way to the vet she got in my lap, purring and wanting me to pet her. If it weren'...

Oh shit! I didn't mean to post that in this thread! It's all ruined now.
Well, at least I didn't accidentally take nude photos of myself and post them all over the internet. That would have been embarrassing.

Maybe she is your aunt. Dun dun duuunnnn...
Kinda reminds me of how my dad jumps my case for making a mistake that I could have avoided if I knew one or two little things that he just assumes I'd automatically know. He's kind of a dickweasel.

Re: Adventures in the Workplace
That's pretty harsh. Probably the main reason to not become an EMT. It takes a certain kind of person to be able to handle that stuff, and it wouldn't be easy. What I want to know is, what the hell was he doing walking on the tracks? At fourteen, he should have known what trains do to cars (the car ...

I'd make a joke, but it'd rub everyone the wrong way. And there's a few I can make, too.
