Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

The rat king goes down with that sneak attack, and the bindings that formed it break, returning it to its former state as an ill-tempered rat swarm. As Krom's last action left him next to it, and it has now spread out into a swarm, Krom is sucked in, taking 5 damage while avoiding both disease and n...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

The slime dies, leaving behind only the slimy membrane and slimy slime that filled it. Slime 1 gives not even a slime-glance to its brother or sister's death. I think now was the Rat King's turn, who continues to try hitting Krom, but once again rolls too low to even matter, so it's everyone-but-Shi...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

Oh poo, and here I was hoping you guys would forget him long enough for me to have him tumble to the dropped horn and alert the other guards. But alas, he is out now, unable to act, unable to ruin your day. As for the ring, I believe that would fit under move action, for withdrawing an item? The clo...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

I call it "Par for the course". Alternative answers: "D&D in a nutshell", or simply "Hilarious". That last one is subjective, of course. And hey, at least you got out of that in the end, alive even! Also, I don't reroll 1s for my creatures, they don't get sympathy for abusive RNG. And it's not like ...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

Funny thing about luck, my most common roll is a 1. So common in fact, that every couple of 1s I reroll because I shouldn't be getting that many 1s it is not natural.
Oh yeah and that rat king is still alive, even after Krom's attack.

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

With a good enough bluff check, you manage to fool them into thinking it's an actual attack with Krom's muscles growing and flexing to deflect it, as far as they can tell. Butt yes, Krom does indeed get your spell. Now, I didn't see your post there before I made mine, Quepp, so roll to hit the last ...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

The slime is split into two smaller slimes, each too small to continue splitting. I believe at this point it was the guards' turn, or as it is now, guard's turn. He runs to the rat king and smacks it up for not getting to work and getting the intruders right in front of it. You can feel the disdain ...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

The guard scrambling for the signalling horn gets axed. These bargain bin minions just don't hold up, and he goes down. The slime makes it's move, and targets Shinsa with a body slam, (15+3) and hits for a total of 10 damage (g slam, 4 acid). It's attempted grapple fails miserably at a nat1, so it g...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

You manage to shoot the one at the lever and he goes down. The guards who readied their actions for when the gate go down panic, the human tries to get out his horn to sound the other guards but drops it, the elf guard stops to command the slime to attack. The slime gets ready for its turn. You can ...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

Through interpretive dance, you manage to inform Krom and Shinsa that you are actually you, while also preventing the guards from realizing you aren't Sugar Jr. They also fail to realize you cast anything. OW, through a series of excellent jumps and tumbles, you make it to the ground relatively unha...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

Wait, sorry, I misread your post, I thought you were just lightninging them from the bushes, not charging. But I won't retroactively make them see you, it's too late for that. Not a natural 19 so not a crit, but it still hits. Anyway, though your spot check also failed to discern which one is Blanch...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

I don't really care to roll for crit confirmation, too much extra rolling. So yes, you crit. BUT! You weren't with the others when they were killing the other elf and disguising Syobon as one. And your spot check to see through the disguise was a one, so you believe he is one of them. So I will now ...

Re: D&D: Dungeons and Deathtraps

Due to the clear skies, your failure chance kicks in, and no lightning comes out. However, the sword does start crackling a little and won't stop, but can't be heard beneath the sheath. The guards don't notice you.
