Saw Cowboys and Aliens the other day. I liked it pretty well. I think the characters seemed fairly well written

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
The truth is, Door, you can't discount either of those possibilities either. I was being serious before when I implied the universe as we now it could be an 'illusion' - or at least only one form of 'reality'. The laws of our universe are space, time and matter - but that's not to say there are not...

I Never Did I keep saying that the evidence just makes it seem very likely that he doesn't exist But there is no evidence. And even if there was, or if you disprove him through logic, you can't disprove the claim that He's beyond understanding or logic. At this point the conversation becomes pointl...

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
Well yes, because a conservative view on religious scripture does conflict with both science and logic. And it is indeed true that atheism is most common among scientists, but there is no general consensus about the existence of God or any other mind-boggling entity. There isn't even any discussion...

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
From my experience with scientists (which I admit is pretty limited) while there are religious ones, they tend to be less religious than the general population.Syobon wrote:If you think that it's pretty daisies certain that God doesn't exist, why do you think there are so many religious scientists?

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
You can always perceive yourself when you're conscious though. That's all you need to know to prove your own existence.
Like I keep saying, I'm not arguing that no physical evidence is absolute proof of nonexistence. It's just a way to help us to decide what we're pretty sure is real.
