Re: MSPA Thread: HAMSTEAK
Actually you're wrong because it's "english". A scratch is pocketing a cueball.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
Character traits should not be limited to, or seen as more appropriate for, one gender or the other. Giving a female traits that you think are for females or not for males is frequently what makes a bad character. A character shouldn't come from what you think their gender would or wouldn't do. Thi...

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
Sorry, that was a bit easy to misunderstand. I'm not saying there are acceptable ways for genders to behave. I'm saying that's how society sees it, and the end of my post is saying that society shouldn't see it that way.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
No, the problem is that there are certain things that are seen as "acceptable" for male characters and "acceptable" for female characters. It's common that these will rarely overlap. If you were to take a "strong" male character and then change nothing except for physical sex, the odds are you'd hav...

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
I would say it's a bad thing that your default response (not to point you out specifically, sorry) to not defining someone by their gender is "so they're like a male". Male is not the default option.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
No, that's saying that a female character should just be a character. Being female shouldn't define who the character is, and who the character is shouldn't be defined by being female.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
It's more alienating when your own gender/race/sexuality or whatever it may be is more terribly created. At the very least, in a personal sense.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
Those aren't good examples though. 2 of them still have a ridiculously perfect physique and also wear skin tight clothes, that's 2 things people complain about women in media too. And the third is David Bowie and has a giant bulge in his pants throughout the movie. The point is that their traits ma...

Sure, I'll try it out. I don't know much about the game but I've heard the art and music is amazing.

Re: Taboo Topics (Heavily moderated)
One could say that males are also sexualized in videogames, name a mainstream adult videogame protagonist who isn't muscular. Male armour designs also accentuates muscle shape and attractive body types, eg broad shoulders. Muscular men is not the same as skinny, big-breasted females. It talks about...

Re: MSPA Thread: HAMSTEAK
But if you're saying the scratch isn't within the frog or is in a "new" frog or something, then what about all the other random timelines? The scratch is just a different timeline being created, so if you say that, you're saying that the timeline davesprite came from is a different frog or something...

Re: MSPA Thread: HAMSTEAK
It can be anything, really. Hussie said that if something on a character is blank white (including their skin), it's fair game.
