Well, i said earlier, tales, that there is a difference between respecting a culture even as you make use of its symbols and garments and whatnot by doing research before hand... and just making a nasty farce of it, whether you mean it in "good fun" or not

There's the fact that i prepetuates harmful stereotypes that harm real people every single day. Racism is still very, very much a thing that exists. just because it's fun to someone who does not have to suffer through the racism that the race/ethnicity they are appropriating does, doesn't make it ok...

try thinking that they're dressing up as something like that because they're interested in that culture; if you see it in that that light you might even suppose that somebody dressing up as a Native American (for example) could be perceived as flattering to that culture. flattering to that culture ...
