Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Looked like the stuff Yang used in her trailer.
As well, the fights were neat. Still wish they could get their hands on more sound effects than just the stock they have, though.

Re: Other WebComics
I saw that page posted on /co/. I don't follow OoTS, but I'm pretty sure that someone wouldn't necessarily maintain their calm demeanor when they found out that their son killed their best friend and "valuable asset". , even if they were supposed to be a part of the whole "chessmaster villain" arche...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Seems like they're trying to make up for that through differences in the characters' personalities, weapons, and fighting styles. In other news, I've been reading Venom. The latest issue did not disappoint. I'm also liking Morbius: The Living Vampire. Morbius is fighting The Rose right now, who's ar...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I remember Monty explaining that she uses her gun/scythe weapon to propel herself across distances effectively, shooting the gun part while it's a scythe to send herself flying in a direction or to add force to her slashes. She can also plant the scythe in the ground with the blade and pick off enem...

Re: Anime & Manga
Viz released a bonus issue of Weekly Shonen Jump while Japan is having a huge festival. It has a full-color gallery of all the volume covers as well as a color gallery of some of the chapter intro splash pages. The most interesting thing though was that it had the pilot chapter of Naruto. The differ...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
Yeah, it is pretty cool. I also like Pyrrha's rifle-spear/javelin and Adam's sword, even if it's almost a straight copy of Jetstream Sam's sword. Its added ability to absorb and redirect energy like in the Black Trailer was awesome.

Re: Anime & Manga
I've been reading Kekkaishi, and it's pretty good. I'm on volume 16 right now and I'm glad that everything has maintained focus on the two main characters and their family and their interactions with various friends and foes. I guess it helps that they're not traveling around the world on a big dumb...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I agree with Madican. I think they could have done a lot more to get the word out that it's not going to be all fighting all the time. Some more up-front discussion with Monty and the crew about the show's content placed somewhere where everyone can find it (say, the front page of Rooster Teeth) wou...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
I'm really hoping that the majority or entirety of the next episode is nothing but fighting. If it turns out that there's only like 2 minutes of actual fight scenes, I'll be pretty angry.

Oh yeah, you're right. I must've been thinking about Kaine (the best Spider-Man) in the back of my head when i typed that.

Re: Anime & Manga
I've come to realize that a lot of mangaka are terrible about thinking things through and just want to have some kind of twist or they get some small detail you missed from the earlier chapters and use that to put said twist into perspective.

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
It tries to be anime because Monty is a huge weeaboo. Also yeah, the black silhouette thing does bug me, but at he same time I'd rather they just spend as many work hours as possible working on the animation and improving their skills. On the other hand, they could always create like, 15 or so backg...

Re: Western Cartoons/Comics
You guys remember Clone High, right? http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/features/what-would-have-happened-in-season-2-of-clone-high-a-rope-of-sand.php?all=1 That's a pretty good look at what could have been, Stranger. I feel like it was the protests in India that helped to cancel the show. While I th...
