Whenever I hear someone say "He sounds like a Northerner" I have no idea what to think of.

I can tell the difference between a general Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and English accent, but when you start getting really specific I just get totally lost.

lol this thread isn't to say one country is better than another so i don't think that's pretentious at all really

this thread is more for questions of life in britain rather than "my distant grandfather was part brit"

Well, I'm supposedly related to Anna Sewell, writer of Black Beauty, but upon looking that up just now she never married or had kids, so maybe it's my family just being stupid since we have the same name.
