My recent forum search revealed a disturbing lack of Ecco the Dolphin related discussion within these forums, so here we are. We (mostly) all know Ecco the Dolphin. A true classic originally for the Sega Genesis, Ecco the Dolphin has made us laugh, cry, and throw our console at the wall in sheer frustration when the protagonist, a dolphin, constantly drowns or is killed by jellyfish. These moments are coupled with an atmosphere generations ahead of its time, and an ambient soundtrack that would make the developers of Machinarium hang their heads in shame. Not familiar with this videoga- no, this work of art? It was recently added to Steam at the low price of $3.
Now, nearly 20 years after the release of this masterpiece, we find ourselves on this particular forum. This is a thread for you to share your fondest memories of the only dolphin cooler than the dolphin in Cool Frog and Dolphin. Discuss.

Dolphins are cool.
Ecco was pretty frustrating but the two first games were great. Awesome ambience.
A friend of mine had an art book by the guy that did the case art for the original game (the guy also did the cover for some Golden Axe games, I believe).

Golden Axe was pretty good too, and it's in a package of sort on Steam with Ecco. Actually, that whole Sega Genesis Classics pack on Steam with the first Ecco game in it is pretty good.

Yeah, I got that. It has a lot of great games (and a bunch of shit ones). Too bad the program running the games is not as good as some emulators out there, but at least it gives money to SEGA.

I've never played Ecco--I didn't even know about it until recently, when I found some terribad Ecco-inspired sparkledolphins on Deviantart.
Of course, I never had a Sega since my parents hated video games, so there's my main problem.

Found a copy of it in a bin at Goodwill next to two copies of E.T. for the Atari earlier today.
